Keynote Speaker Address

The Kavery Engineering College,Mecheri Conducted a conference

titled Explore & Evolve the Role of Mechanical in Industrial Growth on

14thMarch2014. The keynote address was delivered by Dr.K.Visagavel

Dr.K.Visagavel began his speech by coneying his happiness to be

present at such an intellectual gathering in a conference titled Explore &

Evolve the Role of Mechanical in Industrial Growth. He said the topic of

the conference was very important for the present industrial scenerio of our

nation and it refelected the GDP growth rate of our country.

I have immense pleasure in giving keynote address at the intellectual

gathering of the conference titled Explore & Evolve the Role of Mechanical

in Industrial Growth. Topic of the conference is very important for todays

industrial scenario of our nation and reflects the GDP growth rate of our

country today. He had an opportunity to attend the series of lectures

related to Growth of Manufacturing industry for the development of India.He opined that India has done phenomenal change in IT sector, but has

failed to do in Manufacturing Industrial sector.

Advanced estimates released by the Central Statistics Office peg

Indias overall GDP growth in 2013/2014 was at 4.9 per cent, marginally

above 4.5 per cent in 2012/2013. But manufacturing output has decreased

to 0.2 per cent in 2013/2014 compared with 1.1 per cent growth of theprevious year, dragging down the overall economy. It was likely to be the

worst year for manufacturing since 1999/2000. The sector has grown at an

impressive clip over the years, with growth of around 10 per cent CAGR

between 2005 and 2011.



What to do? How to do? who will tie the bell for cat is always existing

scenario in India. He also said that, we are repeatedly comparing our

product rate with China and dropping down our confidence like our GDP.

Instead of that, we need to innovate new techniques, machineries and

process for low cost product manufacturing. He said, he had guided a

project titled Automatic fertilizer spraying machine which will get down in

the paddy field and spray the fertilizer every morning as per the programme

designed.

It reduces manpower that required in the field of agriculture and the

health issue of farmers. it will improve the productivity of the yield. But, it

is not patented and taken to the production. If those students are

vigorously working it to advanced levels and had perseverance to take in

advance, they will become employers, India will have entrepreneurs,said he.

He asked the Technocrats and budding engineers, to kindly think of

entrepreneurial activity, and manufacturing the product in India which will

become order of the day very soon. Unless otherwise, unemployment will

exist soon and production of agricultural product will come down. Law and

order of the country also will be shaken. So, he finished saying that, this

conference will give away a lot of insight to participants and will be the

steps for new technology for the mechanical industrial growth.
