DALLAS COUNTY EXTENSION & OUTREACH

My name is Erica Baier, and I have grown up in Adel for my whole life. I joined 4-H in 4th grade, and have always pursued my passions for service and agriculture. From a young age, I grew a love for cattle, and enjoyed showing at the Dallas County Fair! I graduated from ADM High School in 2015, where I was very active in the Earlham FFA Chapter and also played basket-ball, ran track and cross country. I now attend Iowa State Uni-versity, majoring in Agricultural Education, and hope to become an Ag teacher after graduation. I also had the opportunity to serve the Iowa FFA Association as the 2015-2016 South Central State Vice President this past year. I look forward to meeting and interacting with several 4-H members and families throughout the summer!

I would like to invite you or your club to participate in SHARE THE FUN at the county fair.

You can do many things for SHARE THE FUN. You could do a song, skit, stunt, short one act play, dance or any other type of entertainment that can be done before a general audi-ence. They may not exceed 8 minutes in length. This can be done as a group or an individu-al. Some acts may be chosen to present at the Iowa State Fair. If you would like to partic-ipate let Aleta know by July 1.

The Dallas County 4-H Founda-tion is again planning a Silent Auction. Money raised is used to support Dallas County 4-H’ers community service pro-jects, 4-H fair equipment and to help support educational activities sponsored by 4-H.

We encourage clubs to make a donation of a basket or item with a value no greater than $25-$35.

Please do not ask businesses for this donation as many al-ready donate to the auction.

50% of the money made on the club item will be shared with the club.

We need additional volunteers to help with the set up of the Static Exhibit building. This can be older 4-H members or adults.

You will help with arranging the static exhibits on Friday morning, June 30. I can sign silver cord hours for helping with this. Please contact Aleta at [email protected] if you are interested in helping.
