June 2016
CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES!
FROM THE PRINCIPAL…
This issue of the Buccaneer Broadcast celebrates the accomplishments and achievements of KHS students during the
past year. We also provide a look back at the amazing class of 2016 and provide a sneak peek at what many of our
graduates will be doing next year, in their "life after Kingston High School." KHS grads will be fanning out around the
state, country and the world, heading to places such as BYU, University of Pennsylvania, Whitman College, Utah State,
University of Washington, Colorado School of Mines, University of Portland, University of Wisconsin, Boise State,
Willamette University, Mount Holyoke, and many other universities and Washington state schools. I hope you enjoy
reading about the many ways those in our school community have been recognized for their dedication, hard work, and
commitment to excellence.
Go Bucs!

National Honor Society Induction KHS Honor Society is proud to support the four tenets upon which the national organization is founded: scholarship,
service, leadership, and character. Members strive to meet these attributes by challenging themselves academically,
promoting school activities, demonstrating respect and reliability, and providing service to school and community.
This year, honor society members have provided weekly monitoring and maintenance of the play area and play
structure at the Green, cleaned the skate park, and we participate every week preparing and serving dinners at our local
community kitchen. Additionally, our members have mentored and tutored elementary and middle school students,
worked with Special Olympics, volunteered with community food banks, worked on projects benefitting the Student
Conservation Corps, the Wildlife Conservancy, the Children of the Nations, the Stillwaters Environment Center, the
Humane Society, PAWS, the Kitsap County Youth Court and the Advisory Council, along with a broad range of service
through many individual projects.
