Congratulations, Project Management Graduates!
In 2010, a group of system office employees began a two-year certification
program in project management through the UCI Extension. Classes were
held onsite twice a month and covered fundamental project management
principles, theories and practices, and taught project management
techniques useful to anyone who leads projects at work — large or small.
Upon completion, many graduates plan to take the Project Management
Professional (PMP) certification test, a nationally recognized certification.
“After completing the UCI Project Management program, I feel much more
comfortable with so many of the terms and techniques in the project
management toolbox,” said program graduate Jaime Gomez, senior
sensei, St. Joseph Way. “I believe this newfound knowledge will help me
with many future endeavors, as many of the principles of project
management we learned will also apply to my daily work.”
Congratulations to the following graduates:
Take Action Against the Flu
A severe strand of the flu virus is now widespread in California, but it’s not too late to protect yourself and others against it. Here are some tips from The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help prevent the spread of the virus:
Wash your hands regularly with soap and warm water
or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Use a tissue when you cough or sneeze to avoid
spreading germs and avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at
home and work, especially when someone is ill.
Feeling under the weather? Limit contact with others
if you find yourself coughing, sneezing or have a sore throat, body aches or chills.
If you’re having any of the following symptoms, make
an appointment with your doctor: difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen, severe or persistent vomiting, confusion or sudden dizziness.
