Hagerman’s Clint State Track & Field Tournament Memorial Day Weekend in the Forest The Sawtooth National Forest would like to encour- age everyone to get out this Memorial Day weekend and enjoy your National Forest. People planning on recreating on the Saw- tooth National Forest over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend will find a num- ber of facilities open and operating, however due to the lingering snowpack at the higher elevations a number of roads and trails will be closed. We would like to remind visitors to avoid driving or riding on muddy roads and trails to avoid damaging the run- ning surface. Please check with your local Forest Ser- vice office for current road and trail conditions. Another important re- minder for visitors this weekend is to be sure to put your campfire out when leaving your campsite for the day or for the weekend. There are many places on the forest at the lower ele- vations that are very dry, so ensure that your campfire is dead out before leaving the site. In addition there are ar- eas in the Beaver Creek Clifford took first in the 100m Dash and the boys 4x100m Relay team (Clint Clif- ford, Austin Funkhouser, Kade Kress & Marcus Emerson) finished first with a time of 44.97. This gave Hagerman two gold medals for this year’s state tournament. Other notable compete- tors at the State Track & Field Tournament included Camas County’s Issac Si- mon who took 2nd in the Boys High Jump, and Di- etrich’s Jacob Dalton who took 2nd in the 3200m and 1600m Run. more results on page 8...
