SIMPLY THE BEST!D-Series from Circor is the next genera4on of the reliable andproven DBOY control valve. The D-Series is an all-purposecage-guided, balanced control valve. This new product offers sim-plicity of design in a valve pla3orm that is well suited for the needsof power, process, and general industry. A wider selec4on of valvesizes, materials, and noise / cavita4on trims allows applica4onacross a broader range of flow rates, pressures and temperatures.

HARDENED STAINLESS STEEL TRIMStandard valve trim consists of heat-treated and hardened 400series stainless steel providing maximum hardness with excellentwear proper4es, in addi4on, 316 stainless steel is offered forsuperior corrosion resistance. Sea4ng surfaces can be addi4onallyarmored with a nickel/cobalt overlay (Stellite®) on the 316 stainlesssteel base material providing significantly longer service life than 316stainless steel trims.

CAGE OPTIONSInterchangeable trim and cages offer maximum versa4lity in flowcontrol applica4ons.Cage varia4ons include:

• reduced trim which provides capaci4es of 80% or40% of full trim capacity. This feature can be used tocontrol valve body veloci4es, to plan for future flowexpansion, or to correct for oversized condi4ons.

• Les-Cav cage effec4vely prevents any valve trimdamage due to valve cavita4on.

• Les-Sonic cage effec4vely reduces noise at the sourcein either a single-stage or two-stage construc4on.

BALANCED PLUG DESIGNThe balanced plug design of the D-Series equalizes line pressureunder the plug with pressure above the plug, effec4vely cancellingany unbalanced stem force due to pressure drop. In addi4on toproviding smooth, high-pressure control, balanced plugs allow useof smaller, lighter, cost-effec4ve actuators. Class III, IV or V shut offcan is provided.

HIGH FLOW CAPACITIESD-Series flow capaci4es are greater than or equalto compe4ng product. Op4mized flow geometryreduces body veloci4es and pressure losses, maxi-mizing valve body life.

CAGE RETAINED SEAT DESIGNUnlike some compe4ng designs, which use compli-cated seat reten4on methods, the D-Series cageand seat ring are clamped in place between thebonnet and body. This design eliminates the main-tenance problems associated with removal ofbolted-in seat rings.

RUGGED PLUG SEALD-Series heavy cupwasher style PTFE plug seal hasthree times the cross-sectional area and wear sur-face of competing designs with minimal friction fortightest resolution. Pressure energized to provide atight seal at low and high pressures, D-Series sealprovides tight shut-off for longer than competitivedesigns.

RELIABLE ACTUATOR CONNECTIOND-Series actuators are clamped in place with asimple and reliable yoke lock nut. Actuatormoun4ng guarantees ease of disassembly noma5er how corrosive the environment.

REDUCED SEAT WEAR/TIGHTER SHUT-OFFD-Series control valves are specifically designed forhigh pressure drop service. Pressure drop, high ve-locities and throttling occur only at the cage win-dow and the plug, thereby protecting the seat ringand tight shut-off capability of the valve.

Key Target Applica/ons

The D-Series is well suited for a variety of general service applica4ons as well as moderate noise and cavita4onabatement services.

Feedwater Control regulates level of water in the boiler drum.

Auxiliary Steam Pressure Reduc/on Valve1) Sootblower: increases thermal efficiency by controlling steam supplied from superheated source.2) Building Heat: Used for extrac4on steam control3) Pegging Steam Control: Control of superheated steam to remove air from condensate at deaerator

Drain Valve prevents the presence of condensate in the turbine at startup or shutdown

Gland Seal Steam Valve is used to maintain constant gland stem pressure to seal air form the turbine.

A0emperator Spray, Superheat and Reheat Valve controls steam temperature to the turbine. In superheat applica-4ons this valve requires high control accuracy; in reheat spray applica4ons cavita4on control and shutoff integrityare required.

Other Applica/ons: Condensate recircula4on, condensate blow down control, reheat atmospheric vent and fuel gascontrol in power plant opera4ons. Steam management and major equipment protec4on (pumps and compressors)in Oil & Gas service, as well as a variety of applica4ons in oil refining, gas processing, natural gas storage and LNGand gas transmission.

D-Series Rugged Cage Design

Standard CageThe full ported, standard cage, provides maximum flow with minimum pressure drop. Theinherent linear or equal percent flow characteris4c provides excellent low flow control, highrangeability and maximum Cv per inch.

An/-Cavita/on CageThe Les-Cav cage controls the effects of valve cavita4on providing a normalvalve/trim life expectancy in cavita4ng condi4ons. Diametrically opposedholes, increase the valves cavita4on index (Kc) and direct impinging flow to thecenter of the cage, preven4ng mechanical trim/body damage.

Reduced Trim CageThis op4onal cage reduces the maximum Cv and flow to 80%, 60% or40% of the normal full port valve. Used to provide body velocity control,future flow expandability, or to correct for oversized valve condi4ons.

Noise Reducing CageThe Les-Sonic cage is designed to reduce fluid generated noise up to

15 - 20dBA in steam, gas or any compressible fluid service. When usedin conjunc4on with a Les-Sonic silencing orifice, noise a5enua4on

of greater than 20dBA can be achieved.
