Hello Hippos!

I’m so proud of you all for doing such an

amazing job at RTC. Together, we were

able to bring more than ONE-HUNDRED

SEVENTY people, filling up half of the gen-

eral session hall! If you haven’t seen my

“amazed face” before, you should have

seen me then. I am ecstatic that we were

able to work together to accomplish such

an amazing feat – winning first place in

the spirit competition! All of your hard

work completely shows how much we

deserved it! Additionally, I hope you all

learned just as much as you had fun, be-

cause that would mean you learned a

ton!

In just NINE days, Fall Rally, located at Six

Flags Magic Mountain, will be upon us! In

order to BEE prepared for the spirit rally,

we will need to know our cheers by heart!

Come join Division 21 at the Fall Rally In-

formational DCM at Olive Grove Park on

November 3rd. We will be reviewing im-

portant information for both officers and

members, as well as practicing cheers so

we can win the session 1 spirit stick! See

you there!

PAST EVENTS

The purple Stride Walk is a walk fundraiser to help support those with Pancreatic

Cancer. Hippos wore the color purple as they helped cheer for those participating

in the run. Many arrived early just to help the event further. Although it was cold

in the morning, the Key Clubbers endured the weather just for the sake of en-

couraging many others!

This occurred also right after RTC, in which some brave souls actually came to

help out despite how tired they were from screaming the other night. It was an

event worth going to!

CONGRATULATIONS TO DIVISION 21 HIPPOS FOR WINNING FIRST PLACE IN THE SPIRIT COMPETITION! During RTC 2013: Su-

perpowers of Service, the D21 Hippos came together as a group to win the spirit competition. They were also able to gather

over 170 people to attend RTC, which is a huge milestone in D21 history. With the theme being "Superpowers of Service",

many Key Clubbers dresssed in costumes of their favorite superheroes and villains, including Region Advisor Mr. Crawford

dressing as Superman. After arrival, theater doors opened around 11:30. Introductions and following cheers rallied the

crowd, and later, Mrs. Timmins, ex-Serra Advisor, told a story about her experiences with physical disabilities, but how they

have not stopped her from succeeding.

After the first general session, the workshops began. Information about Key Club, officier positions, and other things was

presented to help those aspiring to better their clubs and themselves. Ice breakers were also included in several workshops

to help Key Clubbers make new friends with each other.

Following workshops, Key Clubbers were fed a wonderful dinner from L&L's, followed by the closing session. By judging

time, everyone was on the edge of their seats. First place was finally called, and it was given to none other than the GOLDEN

Division 21 Hippos.
