defend your body
DESCRIPTION
The use of antioxidants against free radicals is of extreme importance. Studies have shown that the consumption of vegetables and fruits high in antioxidants may decrease the chances of developing the malignant cells that turn in to cancer. Some of the foods that are known to contain it are: blueberries (a great source for many of the dietary fibers, like Vitamin C and K), red wine (but only in moderation; women are recommended to drink one glass and men can have two a day), peanut butter, dark chocolate (you will also find iron, copper, potassium and manganese in it) and other berries. Although cancer is ever present, scientific investigation hasn’t even began to grasp up to what extend it can be preventable. So far, the use of antioxidants has been proven to produce a great effect in terms of prevention and detoxing of such bad cells. Antioxidants eliminate toxins from our body that are directly linked to the generation of cancerous cells. These antioxidants are present in Resveratrol, the main ingredient in all of our Vine Vera products. Vine Vera Skin Care takes pride in to using the ultimate ingredients that are good for your body as well as preventing the signs of aging. The use of Resveratrol is wide, but it is of extreme importance in the aid of removing and preventing the harmful and dangerous effects of the free radical. The benefits of Resveratrol may be greater than what we currently know. Other studies indicate that Resveratrol may play a potential part in life extension efforts (for all of those whose intention is to live forever!). Take a look at our presentation and get to learn about the science behind using antioxidants from a molecular level and their important part in the war against cancer, heart disease, bacteria and other viruses. The Power of Antioxidants
Antioxidants are helpful on many
levels because they help the
body defend itself against
harmful free radicals. Because of
this, antioxidants help your body
both inside and out. With so
much pollution, carcinogens,
viruses, and bacteria to stand up
against, your body benefits from
the additional help obtained from
antioxidants.
Vine Vera has taken advantage of the useful properties of antioxidants by creating
their skin care products steeped in Resveratrol.
Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant, which is mostly found in red wine and red
grapes. Vine Vera Skin Care products are infused with Resveratrol.
The Power of Antioxidants
Simple Science Lesson on Antioxidants
Once you understand the science behind the free
radicals, it is easy to understand why foods and
products with antioxidants have become so popular.
Antioxidants work on a molecular level, so that is
where to begin. Remember that atoms have
neutrons, protons, and electrons. Electrons surround
the nucleus, playing a large part in determining how
an atom behaves and bonds to other molecules.
Free radicals occur when these
bonds split. Usually when bonds
split, both molecules come away
with the correct amount of
electrons to keep it stable.
Sometimes, however, when
weaker bonds break, free
radicals are born.
The unstable entities immediately attach the
surrounding molecules, trying to capture one of
their electrons. Once a free radical has stolen an
electron, the victim molecule becomes a free
radical and so on. If left unchecked, this chain
reaction can eventually damage a living cell.
ANTIOXIDANTS: THE BODY’S SUPERHERO
Although the body should be able to manage and offset a moderate amount of free radicals,
sometimes the free radical is too great and more antioxidants would help.
Antioxidants can give a free radical one of its own electrons without the risk of becoming a
free radical themselves. This puts a stop to the whole electron stealing chain reaction.
