IntroductionFor this week practical lab for the subject Electric Machine Fundamentals (STB24103), we are required to do a practical lab about Delta-wye transformer connection and Wye-Delta transformer connection. Adelta-wye transformeris a type ofthree-phaseelectric power transformer design that used a delta connected windings on its primary and wye connected windings on its secondary. Delta-wye transformers are common in commercial, industrial, and high-density residential locations, to supply three-phase distribution systems. Meanwhile, for the wye-delta, wye is connected to the primary windings and delta is connected to the secondary windings.

Objectives1. Construct a Delta-Wye connection to the transformer.2. Construct a Wye-Delta connection to the transformer.3. Measure voltage phase and voltage line at the primary and secondary windings at both transformer connection.4. Measure current phase and current line at the primary and secondary windings at both transformer connections.

Safety Precautions1. Carefully inspect the apparatus weather it is in a good condition to use before start using it. 2. Make sure the power supply is switch off before connecting the power supply cables. 3. Make sure the power supply is switch off before connecting to the transformer and load resistance.

ProcedureDelta-Wye Connection.1. The power supply is check to make sure it is in good condition to use.2. Multimeter is used to check the current line at the load resistance, and the data is recorded. 3. The power supply is connected to the transformer primary windings 1,2 and 3. Then delta connection is done by connect input 1 to output 3, input 2 to output 1 and input 3 to output 2. 4. The load resistance is connected to the transformer secondary winding input 1,2 and 3. The the Wye connection is done by connect output 1 to output 2 and output 2 to output 3. 5. Used the multimeter to check the voltage line, voltage phase, current line and current phase at each primary winding and the data is recorded.6. The same step is done at the secondary winding and the data is recorded.
