LARP Publications

How to ensure that it be possible to collect a list of publications based on work partially funded by LARP?

Why?

Credit with the funding agency in same manner as any of the labs

Eric will ask Fermilab library staff to comb through SPIRES, etc. to search for existing documents

What can we do in the future to guarantee reference?

• DocDB?• Acknowledgements?• Other?

This as prelude to discussion Eric will lead during his talk

Dinged by DOE Review Committee in July

How to introduce placeholders to evidence ongoing rich program while not opening up “New Initiatives” process?

Committee on AS Funding Profile

Findings Out year funding appears to decline in planningNo precise activities in accelerator physics appear after 2012

Comments Does not appear to ensure return on investmentGives DoE a misleading indication of need for future high impact

LHC researchMany research thrusts are identified and examined each yearOne believes that at least a constant level of activity is likely

LHC commissioning will indicate specific pathsDo not squander opportunity to participate

Recommendation Do not be shy about funding requests

LARP has shown its worth

Put place-holder in lieu of specific projects in far-future funding plans
