What is Search Engine Optimization?

• It is the process of maximizing the number of visitors to a particular website by ensuring that the site appears high on the list of results returned by a search engine.

• Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” search results on search engines. Using search engines for research.

Types of SEO

Organic & Paid SEO

• Organic search engine optimization (non-paid SEO) refers to the methods used to obtain a high placement (or ranking) on a search engine results page in unpaid, algorithm-driven results on a given search engine.

• Paid results are basically advertisements — the Web site owners have paid to have their Web pages display for certain keywords, so these listings show up when someone runs a search query containing those keywords
