What  does  this  mean  to  a  government?

A  government’s  job  is  to  create  and  deliver  public  value  to  its  people

The  essences  of  digital  media  and  connected  worlds  contradicts  legacy  assumpGons  of  governments'’  way  of

creaGng  and  delivering  value

What  does  this  mean  to  a  government?

1-‐  Unlike  the  verKcal  government  hierarchies,  communicaKons  over  social  media  are  horizontal,  informal,  immediate,  spontaneous  and  most  likely  in  public!

2-‐  Individuals  and  amateurs  can  now  parKcipate  in  delivering  tasks  that  used  to  be  exclusive  for  the  corporaKons  and  professionals!

Crowdsourcing  Photojournalism  trough  …  Instagram!

“We  just  thought  this  is  going  to  be  the  fastest  way  we  can  cover  this  and  it’s  the  most  direct  route”    Time’s  director  of  photography,  Kira  Pollack
