Character Education Word of the Week
USEFUL, USABLE, AND REQUIRED DUTY TO OTHERS
Students in 1st through 5th grade will take the Mid-Term Benchmarks beginning this week. The benchmark will help determine what your child has learned and retained up to this point in the school year. The teachers will use the data from these assessments to form small group instruction opportunities during the school hours and after school tutoring groups that will begin in January 2019. To help your child be successful on these assessments, we need your help. First, encourage your child to take their time and do their best. They also need to be well rested. Testing will begin promptly at 8am so please make sure your child arrives at school with enough time to eat breakfast if they do not eat at home.
NEHS is collecting canned goods and nonperishable food items to
donate to the Salvation Army. The class that brings the most will win a Pizza Party! Students have until
December 14th to bring items.
Students with Perfect Attendance for the First
Semester will be entered in a drawing to win a bike. There will be one boy winner and one girl
winner. The drawing will be held on December 19th. This contest is sponsored by ValuTeachers. Make
certain to be at school every day to be entered in this drawing!
Christmas Sing-Along Please make plans to sing with our
Kindergarten students as they sing Christmas songs on Thursday, December 13th at 5pm. The Santa Shop will also be open this night!
Monday, Dec. 3rd—Friday, Dec. 13th
The Holiday Gift Shop at school is now open for business! Students are looking forward to picking out the perfect gift to
surprise their loved ones with. An envelope was sent home to help them decide who they want to
buy gifts for and how much they should spend.
