Welcome all,I’ve been trying to fi nd the words to illustrate the prosperous times in the beef industry, but it is simply irresistible. Being part of the agricultural world and experiencing such optimism during these times will make memories for years to come. The future looks even stronger and the cattle market is at record levels. The demand for top quality genetics will certainly pay huge dividends. Added growth, sustainable maternal strength, structural correctness, and genetic purity and consistency are key components of successful breeding programs.

In 2011, Shane Michelson asked me when we were going to have a female production sale. We have traditionally, sold a select number of elite lots in a sale or two in the fall, with the majority of the females marketed through our annual bull sale. Well, the time has come and after signifi cant planning over the last three years, December 10, 2014 marks the day. The breds are stout!Nearly all of the breds were never exposed and only AI bred to our exclusive sire battery. With our multiple calving windows, we are able to demonstrate adding a couple months of age, developed slowly, results in females that are more mature and suited to high end production.

With a select group of fall born opens, this gives the buyer the option of doing the same. The 2014 heifer calves are plucked right out of the ET program and/or from top cows in the program. The genetic variance of pedigree is sure to suit every buyer. These fi ne ladies have “the look” and cow families to back up the beauty.

Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be fi nal. Certifi cate of RegistrationEach animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association. A certifi cate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

Pregnancy InformationAll serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.

March 7, 2013 marked a date that will never be forgotten in Simmental history and Double Bar D, the purchase of Captain Morgan to join the sire line-up. Congratulations to Sunny Valley Simmentals for creating this genetic masterpiece. He has lived up to all of our expectations and surpassed even more. His incredible soundness, correctness, extension, foot size, disposition, breeding power, and genetic impact are just scratching the surface of what is to come. He has created quite a stir in the pastures this summer in every herd whom has calves from him. Thanks to Rancier Farms, Maxwell Simmentals, Sunrise Simmentals, and JP Cattle for their initial investment in exclusive semen purchasers in Canada. In February, we offered for the fi rst time SimAngus females in our sale. They were extremely well received and in high demand. This set of females are all Fall born open heifers. The blacks are sired by our GCC Total Recall “Soul Train” walking herdsire that was purchased from Griswold Cattle Company of Oklahoma for $15,000. He puts his mark on every calf and what a set of bulls in the fall bull pen. They are out of fi rst calf Fleckvieh dams as well. The reds are sired by Juggernaut or Metropolis on Red Angus cows. The Antoinette P45 cow family has been very infl uential in the Simmental industry and Z614 was our selection of this cow family for $7200. The sale was in late April and we asked if they would breed her to SVF Allegiance, and she fortunately stuck on the fi rst try. The resulting calf is a smoker! 513B is super thick, wicked fronted, wide based from end to

Royal Affair is the service sire to most of the purebred heifers. We were lucky enough to partner to own part of the exclusive Canadian semen rights.
