It required creativity and team work. The part that I enjoyed the most was when I went on the water slide with some other brave campers. I zoomed down it and got a shock every time I landed in the water. After recreation time, I got changed and I hung out in my cabin. Next, chaos begun as my roommates and I tried to shape up our cabin for inspection”. Ngaronoa Room 27...“Today we had heaps of activities. My favourite part of the day was going on the go-karts. On my first turn I went half way up the yellow course. I forgot to stay on the smooth area so I jumped out of my go- kart but I still had control of it...The funny thing was that two of the parents had a turn as well and one of them was really wobbly and nearly fell off. The cool thing was that the other parent started right at the top of the course and he didn’t go out of control or go onto the bumpy parts, HE WAS A NATU- RAL!. I had four turns on the go-karts and I was getting better every time.” Joanna, Room 26... “Today I woke up to a series of giggling and talking from the other members of my cabin. It was around 6:30 and we were all awake. As usual, we were not dressed with the siren rang. For breakfast I have the unusual but very tasty ricies with honey and some toast. After breakfast we were allowed a small amount of time to get ready for our first activity, Archery and Bal- ance Island.” James, Room 23... “Today was awesome! First up for activities was the Flying Fox. Once you jumped off the platform you zoomed into the air and it’s so amazing that you hope some people leave the line, so less people are in front of you!” FUN!

With sincere thanks to: Zane Wilson, Team Leader (both camps!), Kate Swan, Ritesh Chand & Sally Goode for leading and organis-ing such a wonderful camp! To all the parent helpers, we couldn’t have done it without you! And well done to our great students for having a go at EVERYTHING!

Eseta Room 27 ... “Before we started on the flying fox we were told some safety rules. I was feel-ing nervous as I was also thinking about some problems that could happen. Not long ago, it was my turn. I was feeling very anxious and I was having some doubts. I was on the platform getting ready to take off, and then Mr. Wilson had waved his flag meaning it was alright to go. When I took off I could feel fresh air going through my hair, then I had stopped and climbed onto the next platform. I wasn’t scared anymore. There were some people kayaking under me so I thought I was going to hit someone but thankfully I didn’t. When I went in line I couldn’t wait for my 2nd turn.” Lawrence Room 27... “Today my friends and I zoomed across the flying fox and went back and forward which sort of made me feel sick and dizzy. After an hour and a half of activity, we man-aged to have 40 minutes of free time. While we were having free time, there were people lining up for the water slide and I was one of them. We were speeding as fast as a car going 150 kilome-tres an hour .Half of the time my dad and another parent helper were giving us boosts but when it was my turn, I asked them to push me as hard as they could.”

Chantal, Room 26... “Today I arrived at Chosen Valley Christian Camp. My first activity was Kayaking. It was so awesome because I saw these little ducklings following their mummy or daddy duck and I chased them around in circles in the water until they eventually got out and walked away. After my duck friends ditched me, I hopped onto the raft. I was happily standing there until someone pushed me off!...” Max, Room 24... “My second activity was team building; it was harder than I thought. Because you have to do so much work! But it was fun anyway. My third activity was go-karts. OMG It was SO fun. But dodgy at the same time.”
