Prologue 20 Years ago"Join me or die along side your father." Caligo shouted at her daughters as she held her husband by his neck. Sator's eyes were slowly growing lifeless under Caligo's grasp."You fucking bitch! Leave Papi out of this! He's only human!" Young Blair shouted. Her and her quint sisters stood before their mother, ready to fight to save Sator."Girls, go! I'll be fine!" Sator shouted to his daughters as Caligo's grasp tightened on him."No Papi, we can take her!" Young Carolynne said as she readiedher fire."Carolynne I said go!" Sator manages to gasp before Caligo ripped his heart from his chest. The sisters watched as their father died before their eyes."Join me or die as your father did. I give you this one last chance my daughters. It is up to you." Caligo said. Ashley stared in horror at her father's body. She turned to her mother, glaring at her as she took her father's heart out of Caligo's hands."Cinis cineris, Spirituum ad spiritus. Accipe me ab his qui mala Caligo summovet ante me et tuere quid futurum sit nobis. Caligo ducere ad profundum inferni Iussu Spiritus terra, aqua, ignis, et spiritus ego tibi praecipio!" Ashley chanted, entrapping her mother within the still beating heart. Ashley held the heart close to her and closed her eyes."The forbidden spell, Ashley do you realize what you've done?!" Elizabeth shouted at her."I'm well aware of what I did. We couldn't take her on our own. It's being saved for another generation." Ashley said."With only spirit behind it, you saved it for our children." Carolynne pointed out. I nodded."I know. Spirit is telling me that they will be the ones to destroy Caligo forever." Ashley said."Spirit is always one to listen to." Blair commented."Well . . . the Rudimenta Sisters live up to the family name. Papi would be proud of you girls." Ryder said. He was the youngest, and only boy of the Rudimenta siblings."Ryry, why did Caligo kill Papi? He was an innocent." Daniella said."Oh Dani, you always were the most innocent one out of all of us. Sadly, Caligo never had to have a reason. She wanted to destroy you girls and she figured Papi would be the best way to do that." Ryder said."Oh." Was all Dani said. Ashley looked at Sator's body once more before turning back to her brother and sisters."Come on guys, we have a funeral to plan, for Papi." She said."For Papi." They chorused as they huged each other.

Chapter 1"Divus! Get your ass down here or we're gonna be late on the first day of school!" My brother, Daemon shouted. I rolled my eyes.

"Just go without her, Daemon. She's got to get everything ready for the Full Moon Ritual tonight with the girls so she'll be late." Mom said, coming to my rescue. I heard Daemon walk out the door before I ran down stairs.

"Mama, is the moon stone ready for tonight? Aqua yelled at me last time." I said. Mom chuckled.

"It's in the safe, and it's ready." She sid. I smiled and kissed her cheek.

"Thanks mama, I love you!" II said before hurrying out of the door.

"I love you too my baby girl." She said. I heard her mutter something else, but chose to ignore it as I hurried to school, trying not to be late. I ended up being 20 minutes early. Great. Note my sarcasm. I walked into the office to get my scheduel.

"Good Morning Divus!" The lady at the front desk, Miss Ski said. Miss Ski was a fairly young girl who always seemed too perky. She was in the senior class here when I was a freshman, now I'm a junior so it's been a couple years.

"Hey Miss Ski, how you doin?" I asked. She laughed and handed me my scheduel.

"I'm doing just fine, and you?" She asked.

"Slightly stressed, and I haven't even looked at my classes yet!" I said.

"Full Moon Ritual tonight?" She asked. Like the girls and I, Miss Ski was a witch. She was an emotions and charms witch unlike my family line. We were elementals. We're the only family line left of pure elemental witches and it's pretty cool.

"Oh yeah, I don't want Aqua biting my head off again." I said. I walked out to the courtyard to meet up with the gang. There were 10 of us total, my 4 cousins and I and our friends Aiden, Braidan, Chase, Skylar and Daniel.

"Divus!" I heard Sky shout from the darkest corner of the courtyard. I hurried over to them.

"Damn! Look at that sexy thing walkin up to us like she owns the place! How you doin gurl?!" Chase said in the best fake-gay-voice I'd ever heard come out of his mouth.

"I'm doin good how you doin squexy?" I sked back before we all broke down laughing. I hugged the guys and took my spot between Incendium and Terra. I chose to stay away from Aqua for a little bit.

"Guys! I finally found out what our names mean in Latin!" Aura said as she came running up to us.

"Well let's not stand on ceremony, spill it!" Danny said.

"Okay, I looked up full names: Terra Silex Calx is Land lime rock, Aqua Nebula Oceanus is Ocean water fog, Incenduim Solumque Ardeo is Blazing burning lava, Aura Halitus Ventus is Wind can breathe breeze and Divus Inspiratio Redemptor is The Inspiration of the Divine Redeemer. Fancy Di." Aura said. I smiled.

"So our names represent our elements." Incendium said. I rolled my eyes.

"No shit Indie." I said. She flipped me off.

"Divus, you do know what the Inspiration of the Divine Redeemer means, right?" Aura asked. I nodded.

"The legends mom told us about mentioned it." I said.

"What are you guys talking about?" Chance asked.

"Nothing!" We chorused.

"And Aura, if you don't throw my middle name in that mix, my name is just Spirit Redeemer." I said.

"That's true." Aqua said.

"But the Latin translations of our full names is actually pretty cool." Terra said.

"I like Divus' the best though." Aiden said.

"I'll agree with that. The Inspiration of the Divine Redeemer." Bray said.

"I think we can all agree on that." Chance said. The bell chose then to ring.

"Let's get to class before we're late on the first day and get detention." Bray said.

"You mean like last year?" Indcendium asked slyly. I rolled my eyes and hurried to class. My English teacher, Mr. Vanity was cool and so was my history teacher, Mr. Sykes but my math teacher, Mrs. Ship was a bitch. No wonder I hate math. I was sitting in math now staring down the clock, praying time would go by faster.

"Staring at the clock doesn't work, Miss Redemptor." Mrs. Ship said.

"I don't care. I bet the bell is going to ring in three ... two ... one." As I finished my countdown, the be rang on cue.

"Don't expect this class to be easy for you Miss Redemptor. I had your mother in my class years ago." Mrs. Ship said as I walked out the door. I hurried to lunch because I was starving by that point.

"Hey, you're Divus, right?" a kid asked me as we walked.

"The one and only, who asks?" I said without even looking at the kid.

"Rubor Mortui. My dad knew your mom." He said. I turned to look at him and recognized him instantly. I could never forget the face of my nightmares. A white eye and a brown eye with hair as black as night and a smile that had even the gods and goddesses jealous. Rubor, meaning disgrace, had tried to rape me three years ago.

"What the fuck do you want, prick?" I asked harshly.

"To deliver a message: expect the unexpected tonight, sweet Divus. Things will turn for the worst and I don't want you to get hurt or lost in the process." He said before kissing me. I pulled away from him and slapped him hard across the face.

"Deliver a message in return: I will fight until I draw my last breath and I will stand by my cousins until the five of us no longer draw breath. We will fight you and your father no matter what." I said before taking off. I met up with everybody in the same spot from this morning.

"What took you so long, Redemptor?" Sky asked.

"I'm not talking about it." I said.

"Now you definitely are. Spill. Now." Incendium said.

"Mortui's kid just found me." I said.

"The one who tried to rape you?!" Aiden asked in shock. I nodded.

"That little prick!" Terra spat.

"Good thing you have the guys for your last three classes." Aqua said.

"Like they'd be much protection from Rubor Mortui." I said.

"Maybe, maybe not, but we will at least help keep that prick's hands off of you for Aiden's sanity." Chance said

"Shut up." Was all Aiden said.

"Dude, we all know you like her! Just asks her out already!" Sky said.

"We have to agree with Sky on this one." Aqua said as the girls nodded in agreement.

"Some support you guys are." Aiden muttered. I kissed his cheek.

"Better hurry before I'm taken." I whispered before hurrying off to get my lunch. I heard everybody laughing as I walked away and Aiden grumbling. As I was getting my lunch, a hand made it's way onto my waist."Those humans can only protect you in public, Redemptor." Rubor said. I pushed his disgusting touch off my body."And when not in public, I can handle myself." I spat."Oh, my dear, Divus, you really are oblivious, aren't you? There's no posible way you could stand up to the Mortui Brothers." Cavum said as he walked up to stand on my other side."The both of you seem to forget who my cousins and I are. We are the 7th generation of the Rudimenta Witches and I alone am the sole daughter of the Redemptor line." I said before pushing past them. Rubor grabbed my arm and pulled me to his chest. I pushed against him, but without my powers, he overpowers me easily. I kept pushing against his chest only to fail miserably as his grip tightened on me. I hated the days at school and not being allowed to use my powers."Listen to me, my Divus, you will be mine, one way or another and nobody can stop that. You will be mine willingly or forcefully." He said. I pushed against him harder than before, trying to get away."Let me go you psychopath!" I shouted. Eyes turned to face us."You will be mine." Rubor said as Aiden, Bray, Chase and Danny walked up."Let her go, Rubor. Now." Aiden said in a deadly tone. When Rubor's grip on me released, I rushed into Aiden's arms, terrified of what had just happened."Make no mistake, you cannot protect her forever." Rubor said before he and Cavum walked out. The boys led me back to the table. I stayed cuddled into Aiden's side the rest of lunch and most of class. When it came time to go home, I was very reluctant to leave Aiden, but now I could use my powers so I was slowly becoming more comfortable on my own."I'm just saying that I want to teach that kid a lesson! I saw him today Divus and if Aiden and the others hadn't been there, he might have raped you!" Daemon said."I know that! That's why I shouted something Daemon!" I said."Wait, what happened?" Mom asked as she and Uncle Ry walked in."Rubor Mortui nearly raped Divus in school." Daemon said, not sugar coating anything. I glared."WHAT?!" Mom yelled, causing the house to shake. We argued back and forth for a while until I had to split off to get ready for the ritual. I showered and braided my long strawberry blonde hair before going to get my buckskin outfit. Our family descended from shamans of the Cherokee Natives so our rituals are slightly different. I pulled on my buckskin dress. It had long sleeves but the skirt only came to my mid thigh. Id sewn Amethyst gems and turquoise stones on the dress as well. I pulled on my buckskin boots and cape before going to get the moon stone. I met Daemon at the back door before we walked into the forest.Be careful tonight, little brother. I said.No worries sis. I plan on doubling security tonight and uncle Ry is helping me. He said.Good. Just remember that something big is happening tonight. I dont know what it is yet, but well know soon. I said. He nodded.Just please be careful sis. He said as we neared the clearing. I nodded. He left to go start the security route of the neighborhood. As I walked into the clearing, the girls entered one by one. They were never allowed to enter unless I was there. We set up the table on an old tree stump and cleansed the area with sage and lavender smoke before taking our points at East (Air), South (Fire), West (Water) and North (Earth). I walked up to Aura first going in order.Divus, I still have a bad feeling. She said.So do I, lets hope we make it through the blessing. I said before closing my eyes and stepping into the role of the Redeemer. My spirit element magnified and changed my voice so I sounded more like an Otherworldly being.On this Full Moon night, from the north, I call you, Air, our very breath of life to join us tonight. I said before lighting the yellow candle. Blessed be, Redeemer. Aura said in a light and airy voice. I nodded before moving to the south to fire.On this Full Moon night, from the South, I call you, Fire, our warmth and protection to join us. I said as the candle lit itself.Be Blessed, Divine Redeemer. Incendium said in a warm and caring voice. I nodded and moved on to the west for water. Aqua gave me a look that told me she was worried.On this Full Moon night, from the West, I call you, Water, our cleansing friend to join us. I said, lighting the candle.Benedictus, Divinum Redemptorem Blessed Be, Divine Redeemer. She said in a smooth, even toned voice. I nodded and moved north to Earth.On this Full Moon night, from the North, I call you, Earth, our home and sustaining resource to join us. I nodded and moved to the stump at the center of the circle.On this Full Moon night, from within all of us, I call you, Spirit, our very being and our very lives to join us here tonight and to strengthen us through what we will endure. We chant in our ethereal voices. A power surge flows from the stump outward, knocking us all to the ground as lightning flashes and a storm forms. I look up to see a woman standing there, looking like an Egyptian Queen. Her eyes are the color of ice and her canine teeth are slightly sharpened.Who the hell is that?! Indie shouted.Silence, Daughter of Carolynne. The woman said.How do you know my mother? Indie asked.Simple. She is my daughter, as are all your mothers, my granddaughters. I am Caligo Rudimenta. The woman said. Caligo. The Fallen Witch. I said coldly. Caligo smiled evilly. Divus Redemptor, the next head of the Spirit representors. She said.Why are you here, Caligo? I asked, getting to the point.Simple, I have finally been released from my entrapment in Sators heart. She growled.The stories our mothers told us. Were the generation thats supposed to defeat Caligo. Terra said.Were not strong enough. Ari said.She wouldnt have been released if it wasnt meant for us. Aqua reasoned.Cant we just burn her like they did in old times? Indie asked.Cool it hot head. Terra said.Make me flower power. Indie fired back.All of you shut up NOW! My voice magnified with every word I spoke.Interesting. Caligo muttered, looking directly at me.Girls, get over here! I heard my mother call. I slowly backed away while the others ran for cover. I stood next to my mother proudly.My darling daughters! How are you? Caligo asked.You lost the right to call us daughters the night you killed papi! Aunt Dani spat at Caligo.Not only did we lose our father but we lost our mother too. Aunt Liz said.Like it or not, I am still your mother! Caligo said.A mother wouldnt threaten to kill her own daughters. Aunt Blair pointed out.No would a mother make her 16 year old daughters watch as their father is killed right in front of them. Aunt Carolynne said.A mother would protect her children at all costs. Just as we do our girls. Mom said.Add to that fact that none of us are Rudimenta Witches anymore. I said.All of your names are different. Redemptor, Calx, Ardeo, Ventus, Oceanus, you all are named after your elements. A mistake I never made. Caligo sneered. A man walked up then.It has been done. He said.Papi. Aunt Dani whispered.Thank you, Sator. Is the one still in his place? Caligo asked.Barely alive actually. I had to put him in his place. Sator said. I glared.His name, I believe its . . . Aiden? Caligo said. My vision went red.YOU FUCKING BITCH! I SWEAR ON EVERYTHING I AM THAT IF HE DIES YOUR FATE WILL BE MUCH WORSE! I screamed.Divus, calm down. You cant take her on right now. Mom warned. I turned on my heel and ran to Aidens house. I banged on the door and his mom opened.Divus? Whats wrong?! She asked. Mrs. Ryland knew our family practiced witchcraft and she was fascinated by it.Aiden. Have you checked on him recently? I asked. She shook her head. I ran to his room to find him lying on the ground covered in blood.Aiden? Mrs. Ryland squeaked. I checked his pulse.Barely anything there. I choked out.Can you save him? She asked.I dont know.

Chapter 2Divus, you have to try and heal him now or he wont make it! Aqua said as she came running in. I closed my eyes as I rested against Aiden. I concentrated on pushing my own life force into him, giving him strength to heal. Just as I was about to give up, he stirred. I continued my efforts.Its working, look at his hands. Mrs. Ryland said. I didnt look. I concentrated harder and harder until Aiden fully woke up. I moved so Mrs. Ryland could hug her son and I leaned against Aqua for support. Aiden was nearly dead so I used about 90% of my energy I had left.What happened? Aiden asked.Do you believe in witches? Mrs. Ryland asked.If youre referring to Divus and her family, I already know. I confronted Daemon about it one day and figured it out. Aiden said.Divus just saved your life. Grandpa Rudimenta and Grandma Rudimenta have been resurrected and now we have world ending evil to fight. Aqua said bluntly. Aidens eyes met mine. He pulled me into his arms and held me close to him. I relaxed into his arms.Thank you, angel. He said before kissing the crown of my head.Divus, are you okay? You look a little pale. Mrs. Ryland said.It took almost everything I had to save Aiden. I said simply.You shouldnt have use so much energy at once, Divus. Aqua said.He was nearly dead, there was no way I was taking my sweet ass time when his life was on the line. I growled out.Point taken, but now you need a couple days recovery. Aqua said.Easiest time to take her then. A voice said. We look to the door to see the Mortui brothers standing there.Figures. I muttered. Aiden lifted me in his arms bridal style.Rubor, Cavum, get out. Now is not the time for your shit. Aqua spat.Why should we? Nows our perfect chance and with the strongest of you as weak as a kitten, we can take you down easily. Cavum said.I can still curse you and send you to your graves, Mortui boys. I managed. Youre so weak youre lying in the arms of a human barely staying conscious, Divus. How could you possibly curse us? Rubor asked.Do you really want to stay and find out? I countered.Well be back for you Redemptor. Cavum said before dragging his brother out. Aiden walked down stairs, still carrying me and headed outside. When we got out there though, Daemon had been walking by.Divus! Are you okay?! What the hell happened?! He asked.Aiden was nearly killed and I healed him. I said.In return weakening yourself, Divus. Im not leaving you until I know youre strong again. Aiden said. I rolled my eyes. I stopped arguing and let him carry me back to my house. We met up with everybody else.Divus Inspirato Redemptor, what happened?! My mom squealed.She ran to Aidens house and found him pretty much dead and used all of her energy to save his ass in return making her about as weak as a kitten an hour after its birth. Aqua said. Always blunt.I dont know If we should punish her for making a rookie mistake or if we should congratulate her for something you could never do, Ash. Aunt Liz said.She saved his ass. Id congratulate her for that. Indie said.Indies right. If this is something Aunt Ash could never do and she managed it and is still conscious, shes got fire power. Terra said.I agree with the girls. Uncle Ry said as he joined us. Caligo and Sator got away tonight and Im not sure if you want to know what with.Spill it. I know its bad. I said.You and those scary instincts. Daemon carried me up to my room and set me on the bed.Thanks, Dae. I said.No problem Diva. He said before kissing my forehead and then walking out. I grabbed my spell book and started looking for a time spell that could alter the boys kidnapping. There sadly wasnt one. There was a gentle knock on my door.Come in, girls. I said. The four of them walked in.Whats the plan? Aqua asked.Im not sure yet. We know Caligo has them and we know shes powerful. I said.Well Miss Divine Inspiration, were just going to have to be twice as powerful. Indie said.No shit, and I dont know how were gonna do that. Im sitting here as weak as ever because I just saved one of my best friends from dying. I said. Aqua rolled her eyes.You know you feel for him as more than best friends. She said.At the moment, Im terrified because I dont know if were all gonna live. I said. They nodded. Daemon walked in then.Times up, girls. Divus need her rest so she can regain strength. He said. He asked again.One power that Dae and I have as twins is sharing visions in the form of dreams. Our latest episode was a current time play of Caligo, Sator and the Mortui boys. You have to use an inanimate object. I said as I pulled out my spell book. I searched for a power trading spell that Dad taught us as children.Where does it say that? Dae asked. Should the spell use a closely related blood relative as an anchor, all will be under a magical comatose for the remainder of the spells duration. This spell is only used by those who possess the most ancient practices of magic such as the Redempor (Redeemer) line or the line of Educis Mortis (Bringer of Death. While the Educis Mortis is now lost in history, the Redemptor line has found its continuation through the Rudimenta (Elemental) witch line of first born, Ashley Rudimenta (Mother of Daemon Mortis Redemptor and Divus Inspirato Redemptor) and late husband Andrew Inspirato Redemptor. I read. I bit back tears at the mention of my fathers name.I really need to read that one of these days. Dae said.How did the book know about you guys? Aiden asked.Its a family heirloom from the beginning of the Redemptor Family. The spells here are all written by our family and passed down. The blood that wrote these spells is the blood that connects is to the information. The last hundred pages are spells that Ive written or created, including the healing spell I did on you today. I said before turning to the very last page. Sure enough, the spell was there.Focus every ounce of energy within yourself on who youre healing. It takes maximum concentration and it will leave the performer of this spell very weak. With the focus and connection established, use visualization and see the person healthy, happy, free of pain or however you want them to be. Chapter 3Are you sure this is going to work? Indie asked as she lit the candles and the dried herbs Terra had.Its a Redemptor trait that both Dae and I have. Were combining our power for this one and were giving Aiden the Earth Magic that abandoned Caligo when she turned. If we do it right, Terra will have a new student and Auras Selenite Stone will be the ground of his power. I said as I blessed the ritual grounds. We were destroying Caligos energy so our spells would be pure again.We still need a new Moon Stone thanks to Divus. Aqua said as she used salt water around the edges of the clearing. All five elements were working in some way, here.Also if we do this right, well get a page in the book together as the Redemptor Twins, not individuals. Dae said. I nodded. Dae was currently helping Aiden make his own buckskin outfit. The girls and I were all in ours.Di, do you still have the Jade cuff I gave you when we were ten? Terra asked. I pulled the cuff out of my bag and handed it to her as well as my bag of turquoise crystals and cuffs. I handed everybody a cuff and bracelet.Cuffs on your less dominant hand, bracelets on dominant hands. I said. Everybody did as told. Aiden, this Jade cuff will help you control your powers until you know how to use them properly. Well be here training for a week before we enroll in any type of school. Terra said as she placed the Jade cuff next to the turquoise. Diva, its almost time. Dae warned. I nodded and all of us girls turned around so Aiden could change.Ill need to open the circle so we can channel the strength of the elements if anything goes wrong. I told the girls. They nodded.You can turn around now. Aiden said. The girls moved to their points on the compass and I went to the stump in the middle, avoiding looking at Aiden. The male attire included pants and moccasins and a weapon of some sort. There was no shirt and I learned last night that Aiden had a six pack. I laughed and unfroze everybody.No more motionless spells for you. Maybe you could work silence spells?NO! The girls yelled.Good point, maybe he should stick with weapons. Daemon ran over to where Terra and Aiden were. I began working on my invisibility and stealth spells when there was a water explosion, causing a mini down-pour. AQUA! All of the girls and Dae gathered to watch this fight. Im undefeated, but Aiden didnt know that. I let him have the upper hand for a while before I got bored. I used an invisibility spell and moved behind Aiden before using the motionless spell. He froze. I walked in front of him and smirked.Dont take it personally; Im undefeated because of those spells. I said. I unfroze him and he fell to the ground. I felt a breech at the barrier Aqua made with the salt water.Terra, eyes in the forest. I said. She nodded before a leaf bowl appeared in front of us. Aqua filled it with water and Indie used her fire to shine light through the water to reveal what was hitting the barrier. Rubor.Diva, use the binding spell. Dae said. I focused on Rubors image. Using more strength than usual, I bound Rubor before Aura levitated him and let him flop in the center of the clearing.Nice of you to drop by. Indie joked as we surrounded Rubor.Im only Caligos messenger boy: Hand over Aiden and well release one of the others. You get two days with each before trading guys.
