They have worked in international management positions, have led negotiations with foreign delegations or have taught at educational insti-tutes abroad. Continued learning and sharing of experiences means they are all equipped with global knowledge and local insights. They combine their practical wisdom and business experience with a passion for the creativity of cultural differences.

AMMAR SHAREAfter 19 years and over 13,000 flying hours on international routes for Royal Jordanian, Ammar is now a TRE for a major multinational flag carrier airline in the Middle East and a Pilot Safety Investigator for the Flight Safety Department. Throughout his multinational pilot training and work in the safety department, Ammar developed his passion for increasing understand-ing across cultures. In addition, Ammar is involved in safety studies and is currently researching the effect of organisational culture on pilots’ profes-sional culture for his MSc degree in Air Safety Management from City University London.

SHAREEF AL ROMAITHIShareef is from Abu Dhabi and he is a licensed pilot, certified flight instructor and specialist in Aerospace Engineering. He has completed two Master‘s Degrees in Aviation and Aerospace Management and Safety and his PhD research in Aviation focuses on the effects of national culture on airline pilot performance. As part of a diverse work force, Shareef understands the importance of culture and believes that creating cultural awareness is a crucial proactive step toward higher safety standards among high-risk organisations.
