Safe Passage Center

A welcoming, family-friendly, safe space for families in Montgomery County involved with the County Court System. It provides free, supervised visitation and monitored exchanges in a structured, secure environment, where many of the common stressors of family exchanges are removed for both parents and their children. Since its opening, the Safe Passage Center has filled a much-needed gap for families impacted by domestic violence and/or high conflict divorce and custody issues, allowing their children to safely maintain relationships with both parents.

Our services allow parents to focus on the love and support their children need. Our center is a community resource that is available, so parents and children have opportunities to spend more quality time together, helping families heal and become stronger, and supporting families as they achieve a level of positive co-parenting. To enroll in the program, a family must have a Final Protective Order from either Montgomery County District or Circuit Court that orders supervised visits or monitored exchanges at the Safe Passage Center. Each parent must complete an intake (separately) prior to services being scheduled. The center is in Rockville (Montgomery County).

Creating Healthy Bonds

Creating Healthy Bonds (CHB) provides supportive services for children and their caregivers that have been impacted by having a parent incarcerated.

At CHB, we understand that having a parent incarcerated can be traumatic. Our experienced and compassionate counselors and case managers work hard connecting the children and families referred to services, resources, and support to minimize the impacts that having a parent imprisoned has on the family. We simultaneously serve children, their caregivers, and the parents that are incarcerated, yet each situation is unique, and we may provide services to all three in the same family or may only reach one.
