A rider’s best friend. Why do so many riders choose Rider Insurance? Maybe it’s our great rates, excellent coverage, and hassle free service. Or the fact that our Claims Adjusters have motorcycle specic expertise. Could be our built-in accessories coverage, which is unmatched in the industry. We’d like to think that the real reason is the simple fact that we’re as loyal to our customers as they are to us.

As it’s getting later in the year and it looks like the leaves are starting to fall, doesn’t mean that there’s still plenty of time to break out the bike and hit the road!! (The yard work can wait...) Poker runs are a pretty cool way to hit a few different popular “motorcycle hot spots”and the destination for this weekend is as equally cool. All the men and women involved with Rolling thunder chapter 2, worked hard towards POW/MIA related issues and this Runs cause has a bit of a twist. In it’s 7th year, this Memorial Poker Run honors two Pemberton, NJ soldiers, Ryan T. Baker and Philip I. Spakosky. Both have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Family, friends and many locals who personally knew them or out of respect for these hometown men came out to support. Proceeds collected from this event, benefited a scholarship fund set up in their name with the recipient being also a Pemberton local student ...way cool! DJ Don provided tunes throughout the day, vendors took care of that shoppin’ urge and food and drink was also available to cure that thirst and “growling” stomach! With the parking lot and field of the Pemberton American Legion filled with bikes and people... I’m sure Brian and Philip looked down and where real proud.

REMEMBERING THE JERSEY SHORE As I sit and type this next letter “From The Publisher” the day after Thanksgiving, I’m going through pictures of what was a great event. The event I’m talking about is the New Jersey State HOG Rally that took place in September in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. It’s very difficult to look at the photos from this event and think of the places that are now damaged, some even beyond repair. And, to look at the now infamous photo of the roller coaster that used to be on Casino Pier that now sits in the Atlantic Ocean is unbelievable. The Jersey coastline was one of the hardest hit areas by Hurricane Sandy. There are residents that are still without power, water and natural gas. Some homes and business’s in Seaside and along the entire Jersey coastline were completely destroyed. Some of the places pictured in this issue such as Spicy, Hemingway’s, Captain Hooks, and the Hershey Motel were all major contributors to making this event the success that it was this year and they are all going to be in the repair or rebuilding stages. Today I had a chance to talk with New Jersey State HOG Rally Coordinator, Joe Lee, and long time Seaside Heights resident who decided to stick it out rather then evacuate when the storm hit. He explained Sandy’s surge as nothing he’s seen in his lifetime with water levels reaching the top of the first floor with many residents have three feet of sand in there first level. Joe spoke about the smell of gas filling the air as the storm water receded due to the gas meters that were ripped from homes from the force of the water, vehicles being swept away as Sandy surged and the waters of the Atlantic Ocean met Barnegat Bay. Seaside and all the areas areas hit by Hurricane Sandy will rebuild and be better and stronger than ever. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was affected by Sandy, the storm that changed so many lives this November. This issue is dedicated to the New Jersey State Hog Rally. It’s loaded with pictures taken by our photographer, Lutz, as he, as always, pounded the pavement covering the bars, restaurants and the places motorcycle enthusiasts gathered to do what he loves most (besides riding his motorcycle) taking photographs. For now, I’ll leave you to flip through the pages with the hope that we will see one another again at the Jersey Shore.

Till next time,

As the winter months slowly, but inevitably, approach and for many riders the season comes to an end, generally the quantity of new calls we get from those who’ve been involved in motorcycle accidents, also slows down. However, inasmuch as our office has been representing motorcycle riders for well over twenty years, we are finding that we are still getting calls from new clients who ride on the warmer days and unfortunately for any number of reasons, have been involved in a motorcycle accident and are searching for a motorcycle accident lawyer to represent them. We also get calls from those who have been in a motorcycle accident in the last three to eighteen months and, regardless of the severity of their injuries, they have decided to “handle their case on their own”. What most of these clients inevitably learn, is what they thought was going to be a relatively simple task often turns into a nightmare as the insurance adjuster stops returning their phone calls or continues to ask for more and more materials in an attempt to run out the applicable statue of limitations which for pA, nj and De is two years. As a result we get panicked calls from potential clients who are a few months away from the Statute of Limitations and are now in desperate need to find a pennsylvania or new jersey motorcycle accident lawyer to quickly take over their claim. most of these clients, although originally having a “do it on my own” mentality, are relieved once we agree to take on their case, assuming we have enough time prior to the statute of limitations to either resolve, or to at least get suit filed. recently while attending the Lansdale bike night, I was approached by a client who had been in a serious motorcycle accident and whose own insurance company told him he did not have a claim and therefore he did not seek out a motorcycle accident attorney. As many people do, he believed his insurance company was acting in his best interest and therefore there was no reason to hire a

motorcycle attorney. However, after a short discussion and some phone calls to his insurance company, we quickly advised him that he had a claim worth up to $100,000.00, as that was the amount of uninsured motorist coverage he had purchased through his motorcycle insurance carrier. We are currently handling this claim and expect to resolve it in the six figure range in the near future. the other reason we seem to get calls through the winter months is that many clients after a motorcycle accident have found an attorney through a friend or neighbor and hire that law firm. However, they quickly realize that they are just one of many accident cases that the firm is handling and therefore, no matter how many

times they call their lawyer, they have a very difficult time getting a return phone call. We always return our clients calls! the bottom line is, as I have said it before, if you are involved in a motorcycle accident, you should have a motorcycle accident lawyer. truthfully, I have a difficult time understanding why someone would go to a lawyer who doesn’t own, ride or even hang out with other bikers. In

many situations my new client hasn’t even met the lawyer who is handling their claim. my assistant, tammy, who has been with me going on 12 years now and who, along with her fiancé, also ride, always ends every letter she writes with …. “Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul”. In my humble opinion, if you are involved in a motorcycle accident you want an attorney who is also going to move your soul! As always, if upon reading this material you have any questions regarding this topic or any others, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 1-888-CYCLe-LAW (1-888-292-5352).
