First bite:
Where and how can packaging
• Prevent over-consumption?
• Prevent food losses in the supply chain?
• Influence consumer behaviour?
Prevent over-consumption

Food for thought
• SAVE FOOD pavilion at interpack 4-10 May, 2017 (NVC at North entrance ENB/03)
• Knowledge Xchange on fighting food waste via better packging at Anuga Foodtec 20-23 March, 2018 (NVC is content partner)
• NVC Course on Food Packaging (online, global access, no-travel, live tutors, full interaction)
• NVC General Meeting of Members 29 November, 2018 (focus on food packaging innovation)
Food for thought at PDI 16 March
Packaging activity aims to create added value (AV), in the gross margin (GM) of the packaged product at the moment of purchasing by the customer. One input factor is the purchasing cost of the packaging material PCoP.
The AVP ratio (GM/PCoP) for packaged products (published by NVC in 2003 for many different sectors) ranges from 2-20.
How does the PCoP relate to loss of GM due to damage/waste of the packaged product? How can we define the right parameters to stimulate innovation towards fighting food waste?
