Please find endosed herewith a copy of MHA's ·letter No.25022/48/2011-lmm dated 19.11.2012 on the subject mentioned above.

2. Under the National e-Governance Plan, Ministry of Home Affairs is creating a Central Database of foreign students in India to monitor their activities while studying in various educational institutions in India. MHA has developed a software module to facilitate on-line filling of particulars of foreign students by the respective educational institutions in the prescribed format. This module is beinq planned to implement all over India by 31.3.2013.

I am directed to refer to this Ministry letter No.25022/48/2011-lmin dated · 18.10.2012 (copy enclosed) regarding implementation of Foreign Students Information

system and to say that this Ministry had requested to issue appropriate instructions to all educational institutions within your State/UT to provide necessary assistance to the FRROs in implementation of the proposed system and to start filling the on-line particulars as per the prescribed process.

2. This Ministry is yet to receive confirmation from your State/ UT in this regard. You are requested to kindly confirm that instructions have been conveyed to all concerned to implement the 'Foreign Students Information System'.

3. It is planned to implement this Module in all districts in India by 31.3.201.3. However, to start with, the Project is being rolled out in Chennai, Banga!crc, De!hi,

. Mumbai, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Kolkata, Kochi, Kozhikode, Tiruvanantpuram, Lucknow and Goa in the Month of November- December, 2012. The concerned Foreigners regional registration officers (FRROs) will contact the Universities and Colleges to

As you are aware, MHA is implementing Mission Mode Project (MMP) on Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) o.f the Government of India with core objective to improve facilitation to the foreigners and enhance security. As part of the Project, it has been decided to create a Central database of foreign students in India and to. monitor their activities/performance while studying in various educational institutions in India.
