Dear Friends in Christ,We hope to see many parishioners and their friends this Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the church for the celebration of Vespers and a chance to see the work recently completed in the church and priest’s sacristy. Some details are still to come such as a new exterior door for the sacristy, but the work is substantially completed. We pray that our newly beautified church will be such a house for God, where authentic worshipers gather to pray “in spirit and in truth.”

This Sunday, November 11, also marks the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended the First World War. A Prayer for Veterans DayGod of mercy, we ask for blessings on all those who have served their country in the armed forces.

We ask for healing for the veterans who have been wounded, in body and soul, in conflicts around the globe.

Have mercy on all our veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Bring peace to their hearts and peace to the regions they fought in.

Bless all the soldiers who served in noncombative posts. May their calling to serve continue in their lives in many positive ways.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. Jesus, I trust in You!
