of Directors met in regular session on Thurs-day, June 9, 2016 at the Farm Bureau office in Lewistown, starting at 7:00 p.m. pursuant to due notice given. The meeting was called to order and presided over by President Bill Carlberg. Other board members present were Bob Vohland, Linda Rock, Julie Serven, Wes Strode, Barry Fisher, Delson Wilcoxen, Linda Lane, Matt Howe, and Robin Fisher. The absent board members were Leighton Rector & Joe Tolley. Also present was Elaine Stone, Farm Bureau Manager and Bill Dodds Spoon River Electric Manager.
The Invocation was given by Bill Carlberg, who also led the Pledge of Allegiance. Cor-respondences included thank you notes from the St Germaine 4th graders that came to visit Fulton County Farms. There were no Affiliate Reports this month.
Bill Dodds presented a Spoon River Elec-tric update and gave the board an overall report on power suppliers in Illinois and neighboring states.
The minutes from the May meeting were mailed and emailed out before the meeting for the board members to read. These were approved as presented.
Linda Rock discussed the financial state-ments. Directors voted to give Bill and Elaine the authority to reinvest $10,000 with Wells Fargo. Directors voted to place the treasurer’s reports for May on file for audit.
Bob Vohland reported on county mem-bership. In May we had 5 new MM member, 13 new A members, 0 reinstated MM and 5 reinstated A, 2 cancelled MM and 5 can-celled A members, and 1 member reclassified from A to MM, for a total membership of 2691 total members. (1027 MM members and 1664 associates) Directors voted to ap-prove the May membership reports. Committee Reports:• YoungLeaders –The lastmeetingwas
June 4th, fair activities were discussed. We are working on a paint night for an Ag in the Classroom fundraiser.

AITC WorkshopFulton County Ag in the Classroom, in
partnership with Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom, will conduct a two-hour teacher workshop on September 6 at the Fulton County Farm Bureau. The workshop will focus on the many project and book grants Illinois Ag in the Classroom offers teachers each year. Common Core lessons and ac-tivities will be presented that correlate with the various Ag-centric children’s books.
Teachers will earn two Professional De-velopment Clock Hours for the workshop, which will run from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. There is no fee for the workshop. All teachers or student teachers are welcome to attend. Reservations must be made by September 2 at 3:30 pm, to ensure availability of materi-als for each participant. Cook beef and chopped onion with taco sea-soning. Spoon off excess grease. In round pan large enough for shells, place one shell, spread with some beans, layer of beef, salsa and cheese. Depending on depth of pan re-peat layers 2-3 times beginning with shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until cheese is melted and pie is heated through. Can add diced tomatoes and chopped lettuce after baking.

In a large crock pot season your beef and place into your pot. Then pour over your meat your stock and water. Then add all your veg. carrots being on top. Cook on high for 5 hours. Make gravy from your broth and add your biscuits.

Fun was had by all again at the Annual Pre-Fair Pool party for members. It was held on July 22nd at Big Creek Park in Canton. Over 150 enjoyed hot dogs and chips, popcorn, watermelon and cookies, and a perfect night for a swim.
Sandy Bonney and Linda Rock take up their regular spot for bidding during the County Fair Livestock Auction July 28th. FCFB and West Central FS spent a combined $4778.98 to purchase the animals of the following exhibitors: Lewis Gray (1 hog & 1 heifer), Jacob Yaste (1 sheep), Andrew Barr (1 hog), Tucker Lane (1 hog), Mirian Davis (1 steer), and Wyatt Lane (1 hog). A total of 93 animals sold this year.
