    STATE PRESCHOOL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONSThe Child Development Centers (CDC), in partnership with the Cupertino Union School District, is currently taking applicator its free State Preschool Program for the Fall of 2011. The program, which serves low-income three- and four-yearchildren, is located at Sedgwick Elementary School, 19200 Phil Lane in Cupertino. Children who will be three or four-yearsby Dec. 2 may qualify. Priority is given to children who will be four by December 2, 2011.

    This free, parent participation preschool offers children many exciting learning experiences including math, pre-reading, scieand creative arts, as well as the opportunity to work and play in group situations. Preschool activities are designed to hchildren make a successful transition to kindergarten. Children attend three hours per day, five days a week. Parents interesn enrolling their children should contact Sheila Sevedra at (408) 556-7300.

    MPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATIONSummer RegistrationRegistration will continue at the home school sites through June 17, 2011. After this date, registration will be shifted to Cupertino Union School District Office, Student Assignment Department beginning June 20 through August 12, 2011. The DisOffice is located at 10301 Vista Drive in Cupertino, and will be open for registration from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday throFriday. Due to the increased enrollment across the District, space is not guaranteed at home schools. The District dguarantee a space at an overflow school within the District.

    Change of ResidencePlease be aware that parents/guardians are required to notify the school site or the District Office of a change in residency w10 days of moving. Parents/guardians may complete a Request for Transfer form at the time the change of residencsubmitted if they wish to remain at the current school site. Approvals are based on adequate space availability and there are

    guarantees that a student may continue at the current school site. All other Request for Transfer forms will be available on Aug10, 2011 at the school of choice.

    mportant Attendance Policy reminderStudents who leave early before the last day of school will be placed on the registration priority list after any students registerin the spring. If the number of neighborhood students exceeds capacity at the school site, students will be designated to anoverflow school site until space becomes available at the home school.
