Inothernews,GHAC,recently,crossedover100activitiesandwehadacelebrationforreachingthemilestone,whichweintheclubneverimaginedwouldoccursosoon!Itwasntahugeevent.Itwasentirelydonebypeoplewho,Iwouldntcallfirsttimers,insteadwouldliketosay,wereinexperiencedintheaspectsoforganiz-ingaculturalevent.Rightfromthetechnicalgroundtothepresentationground,wemanageditall!Thatsthefunpart:-)Theco-ordinationwasthekeyandthatswhatwerelyon!Beitthiseventorthemeetupthattheorganizersscheduleforyou.

ChityalHills,located80kmsfromthecityofHyderabad.Theplacehasfewhillsaroundandtheactivitiesoffered,includetrekkingandrockclimbing.

Theeventlastedforaday.Theafternoonwasquitehotandhencethetrekkingactivitywasnotextended.Nonetheless,GHACfoundanotherplaceandthisshouldbeagoodtrekkingplaceinthewintertocome!

RockClimbing,Rappelling:MaulaAli.

AnotherGHACfavorite,Maulaalihills,hadaround30 visitorson7thMarch,2010.MaulaAlihillsisaround25kmsandisoneofthe11heritagesitesidenti-fiedbyHUDA.Theevent lasted foraday. Thescheduleincluded trekking, rock climbing andrappelling.Rappellingwasdonefor thefirsttimehereandwasreceivedwellbytheattendees.

DandelihasthesecondlargestwildlifesanctuaryinKarnataka.Themainriver,Kali,providesexcellentrapidsforrafting.

Theeventspannedfor2days.TheactivitiesincludedWhitewaterrafting,rappel-ling,rivercrossingandtrekking.Thetrekkingplacesincludedcavalacaves,syn-therirocksandshirolipeak.Campfireswerealsopartoftheevent.

WedidmaulaalitrekagainonMarch20, 2010.Around20peopleattendedthetrekandoneof theattendeeshadthistosayMyFirsttrekwithGHACbringssomeawesomemomentsinmylife...whichIneverforgeteverandmetsomecoolfriends...AnotherofmaulaalitrekwasheldonMarch16,2010.ThedaywasalsothatofUgadiFestivity.MaulaAliisanotherofGHACsfrequentlyorganizedlocaltreksspot.

Thefirstaidcourse,forthesecondtime,washeldonMarch21,2010,forcloseto25people.Dr.VishnuandDr.Ravi,representingSt.Johnscarriedoutthefirst

aidcourse.GHACorganizedthecourse,inordertohelpmembers,knowofthebasicac-tionsthatneedtobetakenincaseofadverseeventsthatmayoccurduringatrek.Thetwodoctorsprovidedalltheinformationandtechniques,onfirstaid,thatneedtobefollowedinordertohelpacasualtyortobringasituationundercon-trol.

Durgamcheruvu is asmallareanearhi-tech city that offers boulders for rockclimbingactivity.Theplacealsohadasmalllake.ItsoneofGHACsregularlyorganizedtrekkingspotsinHyderabad.Around40peopleattendedthedurgamcheruvutrekonMarch27,2010.OneoftheattendeeshadthistosayPeoplefromallwalksoflifeasusual,butone thing incommon- lotsof enthusiasm,energyandhelpfulness.Did lotsofboulderingandwasbetterthanlasttime.Enjoyedit.

Great Hyderabad Adventure Club has been established to

provide people with great opportunities to get outdoors, try

new adventure activities, meet great people and generally

have a fantastic time. Anybody with a good sense of fun and

adventure is welcome. Safety during outdoor activities is a

The Club's Mission is to get people together for the purposesof:

- Getting close to nature and enjoy nature in a eco

hiking and other outdoor activities at all skill lev-

els.

- Learning tips, tricks, techniques and first aid for

safe and comfortable outdoor adventuring.

- Networking with the group and its members.

- Enhancing your outdoor experience while living in

- Participating in regular outdoor activities and stay-

ing fit and healthy.

As a group member, you will benefit from the experience,

motivation, and support of many other people in the group,

the age limit is 18 - 60. Children above 12 years can partici-
