Well done, you did a fantastic job. Students with Allergies Students may have varied food-based allergies, including allergies to peanuts, dairy, gluten and egg. Some of these allergic reactions can lead to severe reactions such as anaphylaxis while other side effects may be less severe. Nonetheless, the school canteen plays an important role in ensuring the health and well-being of students. To minimise the risks associated with allergies in our school canteen environment we would like all canteen volunteers to be aware of our health plans for all our at risk students at the serving desk. Canteen staff and volunteer helpers need to be aware of children at risk of allergic reactions. To help you identify these students they will wear red plastic wrist bracelets with white crosses from next term. PSSA/Sport News Our inter-school sports competition kicks off next term, in week 1. We would like to wish all of our teams great success. We know that you will play fairly and be great sports people. Thanks to the teachers and parents involved in coaching the teams and for your anticipated support. All PSSA fees are to be finalised by tomorrow, online or cash sent to the classroom teacher. Thank you.

In Week 3 next Term we celebrate Education Week, Grandparent’s Day and hold our book parade and our book fair, ALL on the same day. It is a huge day for the school and provides us the chance to show our wonderful and supportive community what makes Glenorie Public School so unique.

These holidays, try to encourage your child to think about what book character they might want to dress up as. The theme is ‘Reading is my secret power’.

On this special day, a book fair will be held in the library. Please come along to see the displays and purchase a quality book for your home and perhaps a book for the library as well. We are so lucky to have the incredible space and resources of a well-patronised library. We would love you to leave your mark on our library by purchasing a book for the students to enjoy.

Rest up over the holidays and keep reading!

The New Glenorie Public School App - Have you updated your App?

The old app was shut down on 30 June so if you are having problems with the app, that is why!

Android users – new app needs to be installed:

You will need to uninstall your existing app and reinstall the new app.

In Google Play, you need to install the app called “Glenorie Public School App” by Your Phone App.

Or you can follow this link to take you to the correct app in Google Play:

http://cms.yourphoneapp.com.au/promo/glenorie and then just click on the Google Play store.

Apple users – update needed:

You only need to update your app. Some phones have done this automatically, but some of you will need to go to the App Store and search for Glenorie Public School and click “Update”. The new app should look like the picture on the right.

Or you can follow this link to take you to the correct app in Google Play or the App Store:

http://cms.yourphoneapp.com.au/promo/glenorie and then just click on the store you need.

You can now give online permission for excursions

There is a menu item called Online Permission which is a form you can fill out in lieu of filling out a paper permission note for excursions/activities. This cannot be used for any camps.

Reminder regarding payments:

School payments, which include payments for text books, school fees, excursions and incursions, need to be made via the Glenorie Public School website.

P&C payments, which include Canteen, Uniform Shop and fundraising events, need to be made via Flexischools.

Please let us know if you find any glitches with the new app. We appreciate your patience while any glitches are ironed out.

OOSH News - Vacation Care

The Vacation care program is looking amazing for the upcoming school holidays.

Parents may wish to involve their children as a FUN day out. BOOKINGS are essential so planning can be

finalised. The program is included in this Bulletin.

Please contact the OOSH on 9652 0074 if you have any questions in relation to the OOSH program and

availabilities for your children to attend.

Please ensure if your child can not attend an OOSH session that you call and cancel so you are not charged for

the service, plus it gives other families the opportunity to use the service if required.

Commencing Term 3 - Uniform shop will close on a Wednesday.

The Uniform Shop will then only operate Monday 9am to 10am.

Any orders placed on Flexischools can be collected at the uniform shop during operation hours or it will be placed

Athletics Carnival – 25th July 2019

For our upcoming Athletics Carnival, Glenorie Bakery is working with the P&C and we will be selling baked

goods for lunch on Thursday.

Refer to Flexischools for the menu – cut off is Tuesday 5pm so we can confirm numbers with the Bakery.

Please ORDER via Flexischools when the service is activated so we can confirm numbers.

There will be some items to purchase on the day – however to guarantee your lunch we are suggesting children,

parents, caregivers and grandparents and teachers order online.

The P & C have chosen this food choice as we always struggle to get volunteers to cook a BBQ and we are hoping

this is an easier option for the volunteers and we can all enjoy the day watching our children.

Other canteen items will be on sale on the day also – ice blocks, drinks and chips etc

Also, She Brews It – coffee van will be at the Oval on the day so everyone can enjoy a hot drink.

Canteen

Recess and Lunch orders can only be ordered via Flexischools, by cut off time of 9:00am on Mondays and

Fridays.
