National Consistent Collection of Data The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (the national data collection) is an annual collection that counts the number of school students with disability and the level of reasonable educational adjustment they are provided with.

The national data collection counts students who have been identified by a school team as receiving an adjustment to address a disability under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (the DDA). The DDA can be accessed from the ComLaw website at www.comlaw.gov.au.

Every year we will collect the following information for each student with a disability:

the student’s level of education (i.e. primary)

the student’s level of adjustment

the student’s broad type of disability.

The information collected will be provided to all governments to inform policy and programme improvement for students with disability. Information about the arrangements that may apply to your child in relation to this data collection is attached as a separate note that was sent home today with further information about the NCCD

Celebrating Your Child’s Achievements Your child’s formal written report will be sent home Thursday, 27th June. The report will be a “snapshot” of some of the learning that your child has achieved this year. It is important that you celebrate your child’s every success (even if their successes do not match your expectations).

Glenorie Debating Team

Well done to the Years 6 Glenorie debating team who competed against the students from Castle Hill Public School. The effort and presentation of all the students was fantastic. Mrs Black was very impressed by the high standards set by the students involved. Well done, you did a fantastic job.

Priority for junior teams has been given to Year 4 students and priority to senior teams will be given to Year 6 students. All students in Year 3-6 have been placed in their sport teams ready to start on the first week back next term. Please make sure that PSSA fees are paid for by Friday 5th July, as students who have not paid will be unable to attend. This is due to the school having to pay for buses and lessons. Thank you for your cooperation.

“What did you do at school today?” If your child answers this question by saying “nothing”, try asking a different question: “What words did you learn today?”, “Who did you play with at lunch time?”, “What did you enjoy most about school today?”

Parent Teacher Interviews Thank you to the parents/caregivers who have called or emailed to request a Parent/Teacher/student interview in week 10. Please call the school if you would like this extra interview about your child’s report.

P&C Meeting Next Tuesday This year the P&C has been very active in supporting the efforts of the school to provide extra educational opportunities for our students (your children). Next Tuesday we will be hosting another P&C Meeting to further discuss allocating P&C funds to resources. We hope you can join us. 7:00pm ~ Staffroom

Staff Development Day End of Term 4 All our staff will be at school three Monday afternoons this term until 6:00pm working on Additive Strategies for Numeracy Program so our students increase their numeracy knowledge. Staff will not attend the Staff Development Day on Friday 20 December in lieu of these afternoon sessions.

Debating Our Stage 3 debating teams compete tomorrow and next Thursday at Samuel Gilbert PS and Dural PS. The teams have worked very hard on their debating skills this year and we wish Mrs Black and our students the best of luck.

Congratulations Ben! A big congratulations to Ben Stinger for being the only student in the Beecroft Zone to get into the PSSA State Touch Football team. Well done!

Become involved in your child’s education. Enjoy learning!
