And GPB is chang-ing too, as we look forward to commemoratingour 50th anniversary next year and forging aheadwith new ideas that strengthen our role as a truecommunity resource for our members.

I’m sure, GPB could not continue to deliver the relevant and engaging programs that we providewithout your dedication to public broadcasting.

We are excited about our future programming opportunities and mindful that we use our re-sources to serve you in the best possible way. Forthat reason, we are changing the way we commu-nicate with you. In January, the format of experience will change. We will be emailingyou a colorful, informative monthly newsletterthat will give you an inside look at what’scoming to GPB, so be sure we have your current email address. TALK TURKEYWITHON THANKSGIVING DAY

GPB RADIO

GPB captures one of the most fascinating criminalcases and darkest chapters in both Georgia andAmerican history with a special night of program-ming focusing on the 1913 murder of 13-year-oldMary Phagan, a child laborer in an Atlanta pencilfactory, and the trial and lynching of Leo Frank,the Jewish factory supervisor accused of her mur-der. Shot in Atlanta, the new national documen-tary The People V. Leo Frank features a cast ledby Will Janowitz (pictured) (“The Sopranos”) andSeth Gilliam (“The Wire”). Immediately followingthe 9 PM broadcast of the documentary, GPB willair The People v. Leo Frank: A Georgia Round-table at 10:30 PM. The program presents a Georgia Historical Society discussion that

examines the role played by Georgia GovernorJohn Slaton and others involved in the case, aswell as the ongoing legacy of the Frank lynchingand the continuing controversy surroundingFrank's guilt and 1986 pardon. Featured guestsinclude former Georgia governor Roy Barnes,Emory University professor Matthew Bernstein,author of “Screening a Lynching: The Leo FrankCase on Film and Television” and Steve Oney, au-thor of “And the Dead Shall Rise: The Murder ofMary Phagan and the Lynching of Leo Frank.”

Through it all Georgetries repeatedly to create a homemade gift for The Man,and The Man enlists everybody and everything tryingto decipher George’s cryptic Christmas list.
