ALPHA SIGMA ALPHAAlpha Sigma Alpha is a national

women’s organization that strives to develop well rounded

women of poise and purpose. This is accomplished

through focusing on four areas of development; physical, spiritual, intellectual and social. Each of our events contributes to

growth in at least one of these areas. Service is also very

important to us. We have three national philanthropies, Special Olympics, S. June Smith Center, and Girls of the Run. Our goal is to inspire women to lead, serve, and make a difference in their

communities.

Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority was founded by five women on October 7, 1997 in order to promote cultural awareness and

diversity on the Texas A&M University campus and surrounding area. Jaime Slaughter, Jetje Brewton, Adrienne

Magirl, Rena Kharbat, and Lesliam Quiros established Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority with the mission to educate their community and peers about the importance of diversity and

cultural awareness. Being African American, Dutch, Irish, Mexican, Palestinian, and Puerto Rican, they wanted to tell the world that it was their DIFFERENCES that had brought them together and made them stronger. We pride ourselves on unity

and diversity, since 10/7/97 that has been our creed. There’s no one like a HONEY, we’re all uniquely made.

Our sisterhood is built on a foundation of love and

loyalty. We strive to develop spiritual,

intellectual, and social qualities in young women. The sisterhood becomes a

foundation for all of its members and allows young

women to gain the experience and wisdom

that they need for a successful future. The

bonds of Delta Beta Chi began when the chapter

was founded in 1985. During the founding of

Delta Sigma Delta it recolonized as Delta Beta Chi. We aim to establish and maintain the highest

standards of conduct among all members.
