Alpha Delta Pi is looking forward to the upcoming year! Many of our members have already made a trip to visit the local Ronald McDonald House in Sacramento to support our philanthropy first hand! We have future plans to make many more visits in the months of November as well as December! The month of September has brought fun activities to our members including a slip ‘n slide and movie sisterhood event. After hearing the recent announced news of Greek Week partners and time eras, Alpha Delta Pi has nothing but 80’s enthusiasm! We are looking forward for all the semester has in store!

Sorority Spotlight

This month has been an exciting and busy time for Alpha Gamma Delta. We are now back into the swing of school after having such a relaxing summer break, but we are looking forward to many fun upcoming events for our chapter. First is our sisterhood retreat to Lake Almanor! We have a fun weekend planned with sisterhood bonding, swimming and of course s'mores! We also have many sisterhood events planned throughout the semester, such as a roller disco social! Next month we will be hosting our annual AGD Car Wash for our philanthropy which raises money for Diabetes research. Overall, we are excited for an awesome Fall semester!

Lambda Theta Nu Sorority Incorporated kicked off the semester by participating in MGC (Multicultural Greek Council) Magic Circle Information night, MGC Presents and MGC Recruitment Week. We will also be selling carnitas the first week of October to raise funds in order to host a Latina Youth Leadership Conference(LYLC). LYLC is an annual leadership conference that Lambda Theta Nu hosts in October. It is geared towards supporting middle school students to reach their leadership potential and learn about the resources they have in high school to get them to college. We bring 200 middle school girls from local schools to Chico State for this conference.

We started our semester with our annual sisterhood retreat at Shasta Lake where our sisterhood chair planned three days with fun activities to get to know the new member class of Spring 2013. Our Act of Kindness philanthropy in September was a success with leaving fun notes for people on bathroom mirrors and cars and welcoming the freshmen with notes on their white boards. We are super excited for our Ultra Violet philanthropy coming up on October 5th, where we will be having a Sigma Kapture the flag tournament with the fraternities. It’s going to be a fun day filled with good music and food on Yolo fields. Come support your fellow fraternities and the Sigma Kappa Foundation!

Over the summer four of our men attended our “Elevate” National Leadership Conference where the Epsilon Psi Chapter was awarded our national Pi Phi Pi Silver Cup award for Excellence in Greek Life. This award ranks the Epsilon Psi Chapter at Chico State within the top 14 of the 120 Alpha Sigma Phi chapters in the Nation. Our men were able to reconnect with our alumnus Connor Gau (2011), who we congratulate as he begins his career working for Fraternity Headquarters. Starting off this semester, our men have focused on service and brotherhood, giving back to our community and reconnecting with one another as we gear up for an exciting semester ahead of us.

At the heart of every Kappa Sigma resides the four pillars which help guide our goals, ambitions, and are the backbone of our achievements. These four pillars include Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship and Service. The common goal we all share as Kappa Sigma's is to become better men. To become men of character, integrity, truth, compassion, and diligence. We believe in being gentlemen and preparing ourselves to be the best leaders, brothers, fathers, and overall citizens. At the Pi-Iota Chapter, we currently have one of the top fraternity chapter GPA’s on campus, raise money for a variety of charities, and bring home multiple trophies every year. Becoming a Kappa Sigma provides the framework to build yourself into the man you want to be.

The gentlemen of Gamma Zeta Alpha are ready to rock Greek life this semester more than we ever have before! On April 29th we hosted the Latino Youth Development Conference. Young men from the local area attended this event. This conference included a series of workshops and activities to strengthen the leadership and development of the young Latino men who attended. This conference is pivotal in encouraging young men to pursue higher education. We also held a tortas sale this semester to raise money for next years conference! Three cheers for GZA!!

The Multicultural Greek Council kicked off this semester in an awesome manner! First we hosted an all organization informational night, MGC Magic Circle. Magic Circle gives MGC Sororities and Fraternities a chance to present a series of information sessions to students who come to the event. For the students that attend, it is a great way to check out all the MGC Sororities and Fraternities without having the pressure of choosing one. MGC also hosted a Greek Show, MGC Presents. It is a show where MGC Sororities and Fraternities step, stroll, dance, or play a video showcasing their respective chapters. The intensity and energy of the show is a direct result of the dedication and practice that the MGC Chapters put into their performances. The Multicultural Greek Council is excited for what the new school year brings
