Precision Soccer Training: The New Approach to TrainingJune 29 - July 2 M - ThPreK - 8th Grade 9 am - 12 pm$160

What is so different about our camps? That’s simple; ask any child who has attended: We focus on having fun and giving the game back to the kids. At PST, our aim is not just to

provide skills, but also to provide a positive experience through the game of soccer. Here’s how we do it:

1. There is a young enthusiastic coach for every four children - The coaches are there to model good soccer for the campers and develop positive relationships that the campers will never forget. Coaches are encouraged to play the game with the children, but also to converse, negotiate, create rules, and develop new strategies for learning the game.

2. We allow our children to guide and direct their play – All our instruction is non-threatening and we stress participation and effort in play. All the children feel successful in their own right. Also important, the choice to play is the child’s choice, we do not coerce children to participate.

3. Points system – All week, the children will earn points while engaging in many different types of conditioning games. Simply participating in the games will result in points. All points collected from every coach will then be totaled and divided up equally to each group. Each point will represent one penny that will be given to a charity of each group’s choosing.

Pizza and Prizes – On Friday, there will be a party for all the campers. Pizza will be served to the campers and they will pick a prize to take home. All of the children walk away with a wonderful experience and with a great deal of satisfaction, knowing that they have contributed to a good cause, simply by playing the game they enjoy. Summer Program StaffDynamic, caring staff are at the heart of our Day Camp and specialty classes. Our carefully selected, experienced, and well-trained staff have diverse backgrounds working with children. They bring their talents and enthusiasm to connect with each child’s unique personality and interests. Similarly, the Good Shepherd Summer Program is staffed by well-qualified, experienced teachers from our own faculty and schools in the surrounding area.

To contact the Director of Enrichment, please email Mary Beth Jones at [email protected] or call 214.357.2968 ext.283.

Health & SafetyOur number one commitment is to our campers’ safety while they are participating in our Summer Program. To ensure the safety of each child, camp staff are assigned to small groups. Staff trained in First Aid and CPR are on-site and available during Summer Program hours.

The Summer Program registration form requires that a camper’s health conditions, treatments, and medications be listed and explained. Please remember to list all camper allergies on this form, found on our website at gsesdallas.org/summer. It is essential that we have this information to best serve your child. Parents may contact the Director of Enrichment at any time to discuss their child’s health concerns.

In case of emergency: Please call 214.357.1610 ext. 234 or ext. 250.

Lunch & SnacksDay Camp campers should bring bag lunches from home and will eat picnic-style inside or outdoors. Soda, energy drinks, and peanut and tree-nut products are not permitted. Since we may have students with severe peanut allergies, we maintain a strict peanut/tree-nut free environment.

Class lunch option: If your child attends a class that ends at 12 pm or 12:15 pm and a class that begins at 1 pm during the same session, he/she has the option to bring a sack lunch and eat with their camp friends.

Morning and afternoon snacks are provided by camp staff and do not include peanut or tree-nut products.

The atmosphere and dress are informal, but tasteful attire is required.
