Our great Back of the Yards College Prep is one pos-sibility, and many others. Students must apply ONLINE for these high schools. Don’t wait till the last minute!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! With Thanksgiving coming up in the following weeks and Christmas on the horizon, we are in special need of help in providing services for those less fortunate during these times. Some of the programs which need the most help are the Food Pantry and Kids Café, which provide so many meals during these times of giving. Call Sister Joellen at 376-9425 to help at the Food Pantry, or Yolanda at 376-3900 to help at Kid’s Café.

If you’re a high school or college student who gets good grades, you might want to spend some time helping younger children! Our after-school program, for 1st through 12th graders, meets Mondays through Fridays, 3-6 pm. Can you offer an hour or two of your time each week to help a student with his/her homework? This FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6 we will have our Posadas Planning Meeting, at 6 pm, at the parish office. Join us as we consider the routes we will take this year to accompany Maria y José on their journey, and to help prepare the plans for the fiestas to greet them each night!

How does your family take time these days to re-member your loved ones who have passed from this life to the next? Do you have someone who you want to remember in a special way these days? Part of the custom of these days is to tell stories to remember them. Many people believe our loved ones do not want to be remembered with tears, but celebrated, because of course they are still alive, just in another form. Some authors write “Calaveras” which are poems, sometimes funny ones. Try one this year, for some-one you want to remember….

socias difuntas el Jueves, 5 de Noviembre,

en la misa de 6:30 pm en el Inmaculado Corazón de María.

Novena para recordar su ser querido comenzando el 2 de noviembre. Los sobres están disponibles en la entrada de la iglesia. Escriban los nombres de las per-sonas que quieran recordar y entréguenlos en la colecta. Estos sobres seran colocados en los altares de la iglesia por nueve dias. Gracias por su cooperacion. We have the remembrance envelopes for the All Souls Novena available at the entrance of the church. These envelopes will be placed on the church altar for nine days from Nov. 2 thru Nov. 10. Write the names of your loved ones that you wish to remember on the envelope and you can turn them in during the collection.
