Training will be provided for track and field events! In addition, participants will have the opportunity to compete in track meets across the Rio Grande Valley. State qualifiers will compete in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Summer Games of Texas in College Station, Texas July 30-August 2.

Get ready for an “Outdoor Adventure”. This summer Harlingen’s Playground Program is bringing the outdoors to you. With themes like Ocean Fun, Survival Camp, and a Pirate Party, your kids will be having a blast as they play games, make crafts, and go on fieldtrips relevant to these themes.

Classes will be for children and teens 6 months- 17 years, as well as private classes for adults or children. All classes are run by instructors and lessons are based on the American Red Cross Curriculum.

Classes will be held in the mornings and evenings in the summer at Victor and Pendleton pool.

TAI CHITai Chi literally translates to “supreme ultimate fist”. Tai Chi is known for its slow moving attributes, but little do people know that if done correctly Tai Chi is a great work out as well as a self defense system. This gentle form of exercise is also said to prevent or ease many ills of aging and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life.

YOGA INTHE PARK

Yoga is a form of moving meditation that enhances physical capabilities and sharpens mental abilities. It challenges the mind to be quiet while bringing focus and strength to your practice and your life.

All levels Vinyasa: This class consists of a series of traditional yoga strengthening and stretching asanas (postures) linked with the movement of the breath. Participants need to bring a mat and a blanket, and wear comfortable clothes.

Hours of Operation: Open Daily 6:30am - 6:00pm

Tony Butler Golf Course is a twenty-seven hole course complete with driving range, putting and chipping greens, snack bar and Pro Shop. The 18-hole course is a championship layout measuring 6,400 yards, par 71. The 9-hole course is a shorter course measuring 2,600 yards, par 35. Continuous paved cart paths have been installed on all 27 holes.

There will be booths selling food and merchandise for the thousands of people that attend the festival. The City of Harlingen will have a Fireworks Display on July 4th.
