BACKGROUND
• Currently, Jakarta suffers from annual flood disaster. In
2002, losses due to flood in Jakarta was approximately US$
980 millions and can increase to US$ 2 billions in 2013.
• Jakarta currently deficit 10m3/s of clean water and will
increase to 19m3/s by 2020.
• Water feeding from Bandung and Bogor is one of the major
contributor of flooding and is aggravated by the littering
habits of the society and industries along Ciliwung,
Cisadane, and Citarum rivers.

Francis turbine is utilized to generate 2.64 and
13.84 MW (required water rate: 10 and 50 m3/s )
• Water exiting from the turbine is supplied to
water (Micro filtration) treatment system with
capacity of 114MGD.
