Tuition : per semester (example from National Taiwan University, BA degree 2016/17)

• UK passport-holder ;

• with a high-school diploma (A-Level or equivalent) / post-secondary degree(s);

• possess an excellent academic record; and

• be of good moral character

Applicants are ineligible if they meet the following criteria:1. Are R.O.C. nationals or overseas Chinese students.2. Are already registered or have previously enrolled and retained student status at any university/college in Taiwan. Graduating students pursuing further studies are exempt from this rule.3. Have already studied in Taiwan for the same level of degree as the one in which they currently intend to enrol.4. Are exchange or dual/joint degree students admitted in accordance with academic cooperation agreements between local universities/colleges and international universities/colleges.5. Have already received the Taiwan Scholarship for five years in total or will exceed the five year limit if awarded a Taiwan Scholarship for the programme to which they intend to apply.6. Have had, in the past, their Taiwan Scholarship or Huayu Enrichment Scholarship from the MOE revoked.7. Will be receiving any other scholarship or subsidy offered by the Taiwan government or education institutions in Taiwan while studying under the Taiwan Scholarship. This excludes subsidies offered by universities/colleges to cover tuition and other fees exceeding the scholarship limit.

(1) Apply for Chinese-taught programmes :

A copy of results or certificate for the

“ Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language”

(TOCFL) Band B or above.

(2) Apply for all-English programmes :

All-English-taught degree programmes listed at http://www.studyintaiwan.org/

For applications to programmes taught in Mandarin:

•Submit a copy of results or certificate indicating pass has been

achieved at

Band B or above.

•Unless the TOCFL has not taken effect in your country; then you

should.

• Apply for the TOCFL test at your own expense during the first semester • Submit the results (confirming passed) / certificate to the school • Deadline: before the end of the first semester

Monthly stipend of 25,000 NTD = £600

Duration

Summer course : 2 months

( June~July or July~August 2017)

Short-term course: 3, 6, 9 months

(between September 2017 and August 2018)

Above the age of 18 years old

Possess A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications)

Excellent academic performance

Good moral character

Are R.O.C. nationals or overseas Chinese students. Currently studying Mandarin in Taiwan. Have studied a degree programme in Taiwan. Already received an HES or a Taiwan Scholarship

in the past. Exchange student to Taiwan during the scholarship period. Currently receiving financial benefits from the Taiwan

government or another educational institution.
