Information Technology Program Management (ITPM) is a certifi cate and a concentration in the Government Information Leadership Master of Science Degree Program. The ITPM program is designed to meet the ever-increasing call for program managers across the federal government.The ITPM certifi cate is designed to assist agencies in complying with the Offi ce of Managment and Budget (OMB) direction. The OMB requires that project managers qualifi ed in accordance with the CIO Council guidance manage all major information technology projects.

The ITPM Certifi cate requires successful completion of a graduate-level curriculum to satisfy competencies established by the Offi ce of Personnel Management (OPM) Interpretive Guidance for Project Management Positions and the CIO Council Clinger-Cohen core competencies. The certifi cate complements general project management training and the ANSI-recognized Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge. It also provides formal educational credit, one of the qualifi cations required for award of the PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certifi cate.

Certifi cate RequirementsTo earn the ITPM Certifi cate, students must complete six (6) graduate-level courses:• Four core• Two speciality

Students may apply the certifi cate, equivalent to 12 graduate-level credit hours toward select Master’s or PhD/Doctoral degree programs at several partner universities across the U.S.
