About This Programme: Training Objectives
Be Prepared to Sit Your IASSC Black Belt Exam
We equip you with the Black Belt Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge, based on the IASSC syllabus.
This body of knowledge is based on what industry, across a wide range of sectors has decided is relevant at this level. A key focus is on the logical progression from the green belt to the black belt, which includes a wide range of advanced six sigma tools and techniques.
Your resulting knowledge will be tested by means of the IASSC examination.
On successfully passing that exam, you will become an IASSC Certified Lean Six SigmaBlack Belt.
Be Able to Lead and Manage Black Belt Projects
We give you an opportunity to apply the tools and techniques in the body of knowledge to your own project environment. To facilitate this, you are asked to undertake a project. The most important criteria for this is your familiarity with the business processes that need to be improved. The scale of lean tools and six sigma tools deployed will depend on the project environment. We do not stipulate that you must generate a minimum amount of savings as every opportunity is different.
A key difference between the green belt and black belt is the scope of improvement undertaken. You will be working on wider processes which may cross departments. This impacts on the range of tools you may need to deploy and how much of the six sigma in particular will be needed.
Develop and Hone Your People Management Skills
Our third key objective of this lean six sigma black belt programme is to help you develop and hone your people management skills.
The ability to manage relationships with other people is another important skill set for success at black belt level. For this reason, we have dedicated an entire module of the programme to managing people.
While not examined in the IASSC exam, we believe that managing people skills are vitally important to the effective execution of any black belt project.

7International Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Programme (IASSC)
There are some eligibility requirements for this course and certification. Black Belt training
is for those who have plenty of experience both leading and implementing process
improvements in an organisation.
It’s a natural next step for people who have achieved a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
certification and built experience upon this certification.
If you are completely new to the concept of Lean Six Sigma, or have very limited experience
working with process improvement, we recommend our Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
for Business programme.
