Objectives : To learn the basic 46 sentence structures at the beginning level and to developbasic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. To study 60 kanji requiredfor Level N5 of JLPT. To be able to use Japanese in conversational situations.

Prerequisite : Completion of about 40 hours of studying Japanese, Beginning 1 course, or JLPTN-5 level. Command of hiragana and katakana.
