Message From The Chairman…

I would like to congratulate the department of Mechanical Engineering inbringing out their first research bulletin. The bulletin will help in generating

awareness about the department's activities within the Institute and also in

highlighting our research capabilities to the national and international

research community.

I greatly appreciate and congratulate for the efforts taken by the

department of the Mechanical Engineering in publishing their first

research bulletin. I hope the bulletin would promulgate our research

activities to wider audience and will help in providing greater interaction

with researchers around the world.

We are very happy to bring out the first bulletin on all the research

related activities in our department. We hope this research bulletin would

reflect the research being carried out in our department in the current

trending areas of Mechanical Engineering by the students and faculty

using all the available facilities in the form of laboratories, softwares and

accessibility to refereed journals as well as the contributions from ongoing

sponsored projects in the department. We hope this information would be

New Laboratory Setup

Corrosion Engineering Lab (M410) (Under NRB Project Fund) Corrosion engineering lab aims

to accelerate the investigation on the effect of grain refinement on corrosion behaviour of

magnesium alloys after equal channel angular press. The ultimate mission is to support the

marine industry in the development of corrosion resistant materials.

Electrochemical corrosion Analyser (Gill-AC 1684). Equipped with graphite (auxiliary

electrode) and Saturated Calomel Electrode (Reference electrode) for materials like Al, Mg,

steel etc. Current Range: 10pA to 550mA Galvanostat Current Output: ± 10pA to 550mA

Frequency Range: 10µHz to 100 KHz Amplitude: 1 to 200mV.
