In the midst of putting together a National Debut for 750 and a Pre Celebration party the night before at my house, for over 100, I almost overlooked this newsletter. When I realized it, I told Deb we have to pause and get this one out, and then be ready to do one for February. Quite a while ago, before many of you were in Mary Kay, I started my MK business without a computer, so there’ve been many changes in how I run my MK business. At one time directors started sending their newsletters via computer only, and I vividly remember a heated conversation about continuing to also send paper.

SCINTILLATING

SUPERSTARS

One thought…..those directors aren’t

nationals. Not that just because you do,

you will. But one director wasn’t going to

mail it because of the cost, and she was sure

NO ONE READ it.

Focusing just on the $$$ makes me

think about Scarcity Sue and Abundant

Annie. When you focus on the nickels and

dimes, you might miss the husband who

picks up the newsletter on the kitchen

table, and asks about

your skin care class.

Your daughter will never

see your picture and say,

“HEY MOM!! Look,

you’re in here! What’d

you do?” Have you ever

“found” an old one and

said, “WOW! Remember

when I got started how

good I was?

What’s happened?”

I’m going to keep

sending a newsletter out, by mail and by e-

mail, month after month, year after year

because I believe in the power of one. I

know to my bones that someone felt better

about herself, and maybe was inspired to do

more because her achievements and her

picture are plastered across a piece of

paper in a newsletter written just for you,

one of my Scintillating Superstars!

With love and

pride,

Dear Scintillating Superstars,

I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed

the Volume and Number in the upper

right corner? Each volume is a year’s

worth of newsletters. So I’ve written and

sent out 258 unit newsletters since I

became a director.

I grew up in Nadine Bower’s unit,

and she always sent a monthly newsletter

filled with the accomplishments of her

consultants. One more plastic container I

STILL HAVE, that

Deb has tried to

smuggle out of the

office, holds every one

of her newsletters

that has my name in

it. There’s something

special seeing your

name printed on

paper. Most jobs,

including teaching, do

not acknowledge your

achievements for

others to see.

In the midst of putting together a

National Debut for 750 and a Pre

Celebration party the night before at my

house, for over 100, I almost overlooked

this newsletter. When I realized it, I told

Deb we have to pause and get this one

out, and then be ready to do one for

February.

Quite a while ago, before many of

you were in Mary Kay, I started my MK

business without a computer, so there’ve

been many changes in how I run my MK

business. At one time directors started

sending their newsletters via computer

only, and I vividly remember a heated

conversation about continuing to also

send paper.

Your

proud National,

My Dream Corner...I’m at Career Conference and

consultants and directors want to find me. Each

one tells me how our National Debut moved her

to action. I want to hear what she accomplished in

March because of all she heard. So many realized

that my journey started with a booking and my

business was built one face at a time. And because

she knows that, she opened the “unwritten” pages

of her MK BOOK and started working!
