Statement
My work relates to preservation, regardless of the series. The art has a certain ambiguity to it, the viewer relates to the image and places it in his mind to a specific location. The actual original setting most likely has nothing to do with the viewers’ preconception, and may not physically exist anywhere except in my imagination. The work questions our culture, which promotes instant gratification while ignoring evolving consequences. I feel obligated to make work that addresses these issues.
My paintings combine media that attains intricate texture by using an accumulation of thin layers of color and mark-making line work created with thread. Mosaic or glass installations can be constructed utilizing a qualified fabricator. My atrium sculptures and commissioned wall mounted pieces are site-specific and inspired by the environment and the area surrounding the installation. I work closely with architects, designers and developers. Natural, recycled and organic materials are available for LEED certified buildings and work is available for Evidence Based Design applications in healthcare.
A Signature Artist Member of the Noyes Museum of Art, Oceanville, NJ, I'm also represented by several galleries. In addition to exhibiting my work and completing numerous commissions for public spaces, I'm the founder of pFAn (Professional Fine Art Network), a networking collective for freelance fine artists and consultants working in the hospitality, healthcare, corporate, and public art sectors.
