Welcome New Teachers! The Annual New Teacher Coffee will be held Tuesday, August 8th
Hosting the annual New Teacher Coffee is our way of welcoming
new teachers and principals to Plant City. This event helps acquaint
teachers with our community and, at the same time, provides an
opportunity for local businesses to be involved in the education of
our children.
We are now accepting financial contributions to be used to cover the
costs of the breakfast buffet, decorations, name tags, printing and
mailing costs, and centerpieces. We are also asking for 250 of
smaller-type items for the “goodie bags.” These could be pens,
coupons, sticky notes, etc. Each teacher receives one of these bags
filled to the brim with tokens from hometown businesses. We hope
you will consider working with us on this worthwhile event, we will
publish contributors’ names on the program as well as in the next
Chamber Connections eNewsletter.
We will be most grateful for your generous support in helping us to
make the 2017 New Teacher Coffee a truly memorable occasion for
those who inspire and teach our children daily. If you’re interested in

This year’s New Teacher Coffee will be held on Tuesday, August
8th at 7:30am at the Expo Hall on the Florida Strawberry Festival

Members:
I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth
of July holiday and were able to join us at the stadium for
the annual fireworks show! Once again, our partnership
with the City produced a wonderful community event for
local families to enjoy. I really can’t believe that it is July
already! The kids are out of school and we are certainly
ready for a little downtime this summer. Don’t forget that
there will be no committee meetings at the Chamber during
the month of July. Everyone needs a break, so please en-
joy your summer vacations and trips. The staff and I will be busy preparing for events this fall. We’re ex-
cited to hit the ground running with a membership campaign in September; more details to come on that.
On August 8th we will host our annual New Teacher’s Coffee at the Strawberry Fes-
tival Grounds. This wonderful event helps introduce new teachers and principals to the resources availa-
ble here in our Plant City community. While this event helps acquaint new comers to our community, it
also provides local businesses with an opportunity to be involved in the education of our children. We
are now accepting donations for the teachers’ “goodie bags” as well as sponsorship applications. Please
consider being involved in this worthwhile event, we’d love to have you! Click here for more info.

We held a ribbon cutting for Hampton Inn by Hilton Plant City on Wednesday, May 31st. The Hampton Inn by Hilton Plant City is an 89 room hotel featuring a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, free WiFi, state of the art fitness center and heated outdoor pool! The Hampton Inn also features a 600 square foot Meeting Room that is great for seminars, company trainings, birthday parties, baby showers and more. The hotel is located directly off I-4 exit 19 and is within walking distance of a dozen local restaurants, a Publix Supermarket and Starbucks. The Hampton Inn offers the 100% Happy Guarantee.
U.S. Army Plant City Recruiting Center
On June 6th, we held a ribbon cutting for the U.S. Army Plant City Recruiting Center. Staff Sgt. Bohdan, Plant City Recruiting Center Leader, gave opening remarks thanking community leaders for their partnership and support. Also in attendance was Tampa Company leadership, Cpt. McMahan and 1st Sgt. Peterson and Battalion leadership, Lt. Col. Di Dio and Command Sgt. Maj. Monday. .
New Hope at the Cornerstone
On Saturday, June 10th, we held a ribbon cutting for New Hope at the Cornerstone at their new location in the Cornerstone building downtown. "At New Hope @ the Cornerstone, we strive to maintain small-church closeness within a growing generation. We desire to encourage people in their relationship with Christ and with each other.
