Stay Motivated with SMART GoalsTips from LEDC online newsletter:Specific: Being specific means understanding the details.
Put some numbers to what you want to accomplish. Forexample, if you want to attract more clients, write howmany more clients you need.
Measurable: How will you know if you are successful?Think in terms of tangible events: will you hear the ringof the phone? Will you see the dollars rise in your bankaccount? Will you have more contacts?
Attainable: Will you actually be able to achieve your goal?Is there a clear set of strategies that you have the capacityto employ?
Relevant: For the goal to work it must be important to you.You must see it as intimately tied to your larger objectivesand your success.
Time-bound: Have you held yourself accountable to the calendar? Set a date to finish the task.
If, after setting your SMART goal, you do not achieve it, donot despair. Ask yourself if you were truly committed tothe outcome of the goal or, if it was unrealistic. Try againand over time the skill of SMART goal setting will helpyou just as much as the actions you take to achieve it.
