Remember that Michael is looking back as a grown man on his experiences.

The ship’s log is written in italics in the book to show you it is not the ‘normal’

narrative.

1. Why did the author write about Stella Artois going overboard?

2. How did you feel when the ship’s log ended and the retelling of the

story started again?

3. List all the safety procedures that Michael failed to do before the end

of this chapter. Use good vocabulary and complete sentences for each

point.
