NEDJELJNO RAZMIŠLJANJE

Baci kamen?

Zakoni, zakoni, zakoni.

Postoje zakoni svakakvih

vrsta i u ime svakakvih

autoriteta. Židovi su imali

zakon koji je govorio kako

osobu uhvaćenu u preljubu treba

kamenovati.

Znali su za mudrost poznatog židovskog

rabina Isusa iz Nazareta pa su ga pitali što

on misli. On je šutio. Prišao k zemlji i

poćeo pisati. Pisati šuteći. Onda je

izgovorio samo jednu mudrost: “Tko je bez

grijeha neka prvi baci kamen”! Bijaše

hrabro od njega to ućiniti. Ako kaže da je

treba kamenovati, izgubit će sljedbenike,

ako kaže da ju treba pustiti, prekršio je

zakon. Isusova poruka je jasna: Prijatelju,

ne sudi nikoga i nikada! Sud ne pripada

tebi!

LITURGICAL ROLES FOR APRIL 13 & 14

SUNDAY MEDITATION

Once again this week we are

reminded of what a loving and

merciful God we worship and

serve. The theme of the

readings for this fifth Sunday

of Lent are summed up

beautifully in today’s Gospel passage from St.

Luke which tells us about the woman caught in

adultery. Jesus saved her life. After all those who

wanted to stone this woman had left the scene

Jesus showed her mercy, and added: “Go, and

from now on do not sin anymore.”

When we turn to God for forgiveness, He is indeed

gracious and merciful. So much so, that not only

does He forgive our sins, He makes us completely

new creations in Christ, offering us the grace we

need to sin no more.

What is more amazing is that this allperfect and

holy God draws so very near to us. Our sins do

not drive Him from us, but rather toward us so

that He can free us from them. Look carefully at

Christ’s actions and posture in the Gospel reading

as He deals with both the crowd of people, the

scribes and Pharisees, and the adulterous woman.

“All the people started coming to Him and he sat

down and taught them.” “He bent down and

began to write with His finger.” He “straightened

up” when He confronted the scribes and Pharisees

about their own sins. And he “straightened up”

when He assured the woman that He was not

about to stone her either. Like a skilled teacher, or

loving “big brother,” Christ bends down to where

we are, He sits among us, He stands to confront

us when needed and He stands to look us in the

eye to remind us of our true dignity.

We are all unworthy of the great privilege of

worshiping Him. But that is simply cause for

greater joy in serving Him with all our hearts.

PALM SUNDAY NEXT WEEKEND Palms will

be distributed before each Mass

and then blessed. There will be a

procession from the big Hall. The

Passion Narrative will be read and

Holy Week will begin the mystery

of Christ’s suffering, death and Resurrection.

The heartenhancing movie “UNPLANNED”

was the #4 grossing film last weekend, and is still

showing at Marcus Ridge in New Berlin, Marcus

Majestic in Brookfield, and Marcus Menomonee Falls.

You can check show times and even buy tickets online

with reserved seats at www.Fandango.com. As one of the

youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the

nation, Abby Johnson was involved in upwards of 22,000

abortions, including counseling countless pregnant

mothers. Her passion for women led her to become

Planned Parenthood’s employee of the year in 2008.

Until that day in 2009 when she saw something that

changed everything. With an open heart, see for yourself.
