Story teller 1: Down on the deepest ocean, there once lived a mermaid princess called Ariel. She was the youngest daughter of King Triton, and she had the most beautiful voice in the whole kingdom.

Triton: I'm really looking forward to this performance, Sebastian.

Sebastian: Oh, Your Majesty, this will be the finest concert. Your daughters will be spectacular!

Triton: Yes, and especially my little Ariel.

Sebastian: Yes, yes, she has the most beautiful voice. . . .

Triton: (Very angry.) Ariel!! Where is she????

2. Music: “Under the Sea”

Story teller1 : Ariel was interested in human objects. So she was always looking inside sunken ships. That’s why she had forgotten about the concert.

Flounder: (From distance.) Ariel, wait for me . . .

Ariel: Flounder, hurry up!

Flounder: (Catching up.) You know I can't swim that fast.

Ariel: There it is. Isn't it fantastic?

Flounder: Yeah . . . sure . . . it - it's great. Now let's get outta here.

Ariel: Are you afraid?

Flounder: Who, me? No way. It's just, it, err . . . it looks - damp in there.

Yeah. And I've got this cough. (Flounder coughs unconvincingly)

Ariel: All right. I'm going inside. You can just stay here and - watch for sharks. (She goes inside.)

Flounder: O.K. Yeah - you go. I'll stay and - what? Sharks! Ariel! Ariel help!

Ariel: (Laughs.) Oh, Flounder. Oh no. I have a concert and I am late. Hurry Flounder. Hurry!

Flounder: I can’t go that fast. You are always hurrying me.

Ariel: Hi daddy! Sorry I’m late!!

The Sea King: I’m very angry with you. It’s late and everybody is waiting for you.

Ariel: Daddy, I'm sorry, I just forgot, I -

Triton: As a result of your careless behaviour -

Sebastian: Careless and reckless behaviour!

Triton: - the entire celebration was, er -

Sebastian: Well, it was ruined! That's all. Completely destroyed!

Tritón: The surface is dangerous. You will never go there again. Sebastian. Keep an eye on her.

Sebastian: Me? Why it it always me? Hm! Teenagers. . . . They think they know everything.

Story teller1 : One night Sebastian followed Ariel and Flounder to the surface to watch a ship. Eric the Prince was there. He was very handsome and Ariel fell in love with him.

Flounder: There is going to be a great storm. It’s dangerous here. Let’s go. Let’s go

3. Music: “Storm”

Ariel: Oh look, Prince Eric is in danger. I must help him.

He’s so handsome. One day I will be part of the human world.

Story teller1 : When Triton found out what had happened he was so furious that he destroyed all the human treasures Ariel had.

Ariel: (crying)

Flotsam: Poor child.

Jetsam: Poor, sweet child.

Flotsam: She has a very serious problem

Jetsam: If only there were something we could do.

Flotsam: But there is something.

Ariel: Who - who are you?

Jetsam: Don't be scared.

Flotsam: We represent someone who can help you.

Jetsam: Someone who could make all your dreams come true.

Flotsam and Jetsam: Just imagine -

Jetsam: You and your prince -

Flotsam and Jetsam: Together, forever. . . .

Ariel: I don't understand.

Jetsam: Ursula has great powers

Ariel: The sea witch? - no! Get out of here! Leave me alone!

Flotsam: OK.

Jetsam: It was only a suggestion.

Ariel: Wait.

Flotsam and Jetsam: Yeeeeeeeeeess?

Story teller 2: Ariel decided to talk to Úrsula, her father’s enemy.

Ariel: I'm going to see Ursula.

Sebastian: Ariel, no! No, she's a demon, she's a monster!

4. Music:” Poor Souls, danger”

Úrsula: Hello my dear Ariel. Don’t worry I can make you human. I know a little magic. Now listen, here’s the deal. In exchange for your voice, I will turn you into a human for three days. If Eric doesn’t kiss you in that time, you will become a mermaid again and belong to me forever. Sign here please!

Ariel: Ok I will sign.

5. Music: “Poor Souls, Ursula takes her voice away”

Úrsula: Sing (music goes on) Keep singing!!!

Eric: I need to find this girl. She saved me. She has a wonderful voice. Oh Who’s that girl on the rock? Is she the girl I’m looking for? Excuse me, what’s your name? Have we met before?

Story teller2 : Ariel couldn’t speak. So Eric thought he had made a mistake, but he felt sorry for this voiceless girl and took her to the palace. They had a very good time together.

Flounder: (As they pass water.) Has he kissed her yet?

Sebastian: Not yet.

Flounder: what’s he waiting for? She doesn’t have much time left.

6. Music: “Kiss the Girl”

Story teller 2: The witch didn’t want to lose Ariel.

Úrsula: the Prince is with Ariel. I have to do something. He likes her. Ariel is going to be mine for ever. I’m going to be Vanessa, and with Ariel’s voice, the Prince will fall in love with me. ja ja…

Vanessa: Hi, My dear Prince. I have heard you were looking for me.

Eric: Oh it’s you. At last. Come to the palace immediately. I have looked for you everywhere. I want to marry you.

Flounder: Oh Ariel. I’m so sorry for you.

Story teller2 : There was no time to lose. Scutty, the sea gull asked for help to all the animals. They had to stop Vanessa. Now they knew she was Úrsula, the witch.

Sebastian: OK. I will bring King Tritón. He must know.

7. Music: “The Sun Sets”

Story teller2 : With the help of the sea gulls, Vanessa lost her necklace, and Ariel recovered her voice.

Ariel: Eric. It’ me who saved you. Kiss me and we will be happy for ever.

Story teller2: But it was too late. The sun set and Ariel was turned into a mermaid and Ursula grabbed her.

8. Music: “The Sun Sets”

King Triton: Úrsula stop! Let her go!

Úrsula: No! She is mine now. You see we made a deal. However, how about an exchange?

King Triton: Here you are my magic trident.

9. Music: “The Sun Sets”

Eric: No you witch. You are not going to win this time. I’m going to turn you into a pool of oil. Have this hapoon! You deserve to die.

King Triton: My powers are back. The witch is dead.

Story teller 2: Meanwhile in the beach Ariel and Eric were in the beach gazing lovingly.

King Triton: Ariel really loves him.

Triton: I guess there's just one problem left.

Sebastian: And what's that, Your Majesty?

Triton: How much I’m going to miss her.

10. Music: “A Happy Ending”
