Harrison County Engineer will review and, if acceptable recommend to Board of Supervisors for approval. There are typically two meetings per month occuring on the first and second Monday of the month. The Board agenda deadline is Wednesday prior to the meeting for the Engineering Department. All information must be provided one (1) week prior to the agenda deadline for office and field review by the Engineering Department.

Construction Plan Submittal * Submit Construction Plans stamped and signed by a Professional Engineer registered

in the state of Mississippi and include the following information: - Title Sheet

prior to commencement of construction. * Notify Harrison County Engineering for review of any changes to approved project

documents. * Notify Harrison County Engineering when beginning construction. * Notify Harrison County Engineering when beginning drainage construction. - HDPE end sections will not be accepted. - Harrison County Engineering Representative will verify opening widths (per plans)

and heights (5” max). * Notify Harrison County Engineering when beginning curb construction. - Proof roll curb base in the presence of Harrison County Engineering

Representative. - Harrison County Engineering Representative will verify curb width (2’ min.) along

with contraction and expansion joints are in accordance with the approved documents.

The Harrison County Assistant Engineer will be the principal contact for all

Submission of Final Plat - Construction checks must have been performed and approved by Harrison County

Engineering Representative. - Submit a review copy of Final Plat for review including wetland delineation. Upon

direction of Engineering Department, provide a minimum one (1) mylar and one (1) linen copies for recording purposes and three (3) electronic copies in AutoCAD format on CD’s.

- Provide approval letters for constructing potable water and sanitary sewer systems from appropriate state agencies. (Not required for individual on-site systems.)

- Provide 2-year maintenance Bond for all improvements. (A certified check is acceptable but unsecured checks will not be allowed.)

- Provide signed agreement with power company detailing that Developer will pay electric lighting bill for a one (1) year period from the date of Harrison County Board of Supervisors approval.

- Request Final Inspection and complete all punch list items including installation of all street signage; establish stand of grass in disturbed areas or seed, fertilize and mulch with erosion control.

- Provide list of roads with lengths and widths. - Pre-pay filing fee. (Currently $16 for first page and $10 for each add. Page) Harrison County Engineer will review and, if acceptable recommend to Board of

GENERAL SUBDIVISION REQUIREMENTS: The sale or exchange of any property between any two parties, regardless of relationship shall be regulated by the Harrison County Land Ordinance. Application Fee: Fifty dollars ($250.00) plus fifty cents ($2.00) per lot MINIMUM IMPROVEMENTS: Our Land Development Regulations generally reference all construction and materials to be in accordance with MDOT’s State Aid Specifications. Road Design –

Asphalt Surface Course Hot Bituminous Pavement - Surface Course No.

SC-1, Three Inches (3") Minimum Thickness, MDOT State Aid Specifications. The asphalt will be placed in two (2) lifts of One and One Half Inches (1-1/2”) each. The first lift is required prior to Final Plat Approval. The final lift required to be provided no sooner than 80% of lot buildout. Harrison County Engineering inspection and approval required prior to final lift. If 80% buildout does not occur within the two (2) year warranty period, Developer may elect to extend the Completion Bond or pay cost of final lift to County for overlay at a later date.

Concrete Pavement “…allowed only by special permission by the Board of Supervisors.” Base shall be as listed below.

Base Course Eight (8) inch minimum thickness, crushed

limestone or ten (10) inch crushed concrete, size 610, 10” Cement Treated Base in accordance with the MSHD State Specifications allowed only upon inspection by Harrison County Engineering Representative following grading of base course, Clay Gravel and Mechanically Stabilized Base Courses are not acceptable. Design data for treated bases shall be stamped and signed by P.E. registered in the state of Mississippi and provided to County. Base course shall be proof-rolled in the presence of a Harrison County Engineering Representative.

Subbase Subbase shall be prepared in accordance with MDOT State aid Specifications. Subbase course shall be proof-rolled in the presence of a Harrison County Engineering Representative.

Type II Subdivisions – Required for lot widths less than 100 feet

Type III – Not Required Curb and Gutter Required for lot widths less than 100 feet

Fire Protection –

Water Main 8” Min. for Lines Supplying Fire Hydrants or 6” if lines are looped or as supported by engineering calculations

Fire Hydrant Max. 500’ from Residences Drainage Design - 25-yr Design Storm Piping of ditches in Type II and III Subdivisions not

allowed unless plans are submitted for review by a Professional Engineer registered in the state of Mississippi. Also, a permit or approval letter by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality shall be provided.

Street Lighting- Required for all developments Bonds -

Submission of Final Plat - Construction checks must have been performed and approved by Harrison County

Engineering Representative. - Submit a review copy of Final Plat for review including wetland delineation. Upon

direction of Engineering Department, provide a minimum one (1) mylar and one (1) linen copies for recording purposes and three (3) electronic copies in AutoCAD format on CD’s.

- Provide approval letters for constructing potable water and sanitary sewer systems from appropriate state agencies. (Not required for individual on-site systems.)

- Provide 2-year maintenance Bond for all improvements. (A certified check is acceptable but unsecured checks will not be allowed.)

- Provide signed agreement with power company detailing that Developer will pay electric lighting bill for a one (1) year period from the date of Harrison County Board of Supervisors approval.

GENERAL SUBDIVISION REQUIREMENTS: The sale or exchange of any property between any two parties, regardless of relationship shall be regulated by the Harrison County Land Ordinance. Application Fee: Fifty dollars ($250.00) plus fifty cents ($2.00) per lot MINIMUM IMPROVEMENTS: Our Land Development Regulations generally reference all construction and materials to be in accordance with MDOT’s State Aid Specifications. Road Design –

Asphalt Surface Course Hot Bituminous Pavement - Surface Course No.

SC-1, Three Inches (3") Minimum Thickness, MDOT State Aid Specifications. The asphalt will be placed in two (2) lifts of One and One Half Inches (1-1/2”) each. Submission of Final Plat - Construction checks must have been performed and approved by Harrison County

Engineering Representative. - Submit a review copy of Final Plat for review including wetland delineation. Upon

direction of Engineering Department, provide a minimum one (1) mylar and one (1) linen copies for recording purposes and three (3) electronic copies in AutoCAD format on CD’s.

- Provide approval letters for constructing potable water and sanitary sewer systems from appropriate state agencies. (Not required for individual on-site systems.)

- Provide 2-year maintenance Bond for all improvements. (A certified check is acceptable but unsecured checks will not be allowed.)

- Provide signed agreement with power company detailing that Developer will pay electric lighting bill for a one (1) year period from the date of Harrison County Board of Supervisors approval.

- Request Final Inspection and complete all punch list items including installation of all street signage; establish stand of grass in disturbed areas or seed, fertilize and mulch with erosion control.

- Provide list of roads with lengths and widths. - Pre-pay filing fee. (Currently $16 for first page and $10 for each add. Page) Harrison County Engineer will review and, if acceptable recommend to Board of

Supervisors for approval. There are typically two meetings per month occuring on the first and second Monday of the month. The Board agenda deadline is Wednesday prior to the meeting for the Engineering Department. All information must be provided one (1) week prior to the agenda deadline for office and field review by the Engineering Department.

GENERAL SUBDIVISION REQUIREMENTS: The sale or exchange of any property between any two parties, regardless of relationship shall be regulated by the Harrison County Land Ordinance. Application Fee: Fifty dollars ($250.00) plus fifty cents ($2.00) per lot MINIMUM IMPROVEMENTS: Our Land Development Regulations generally reference all construction and materials to be in accordance with MDOT’s State Aid Specifications. Road Design –

Asphalt Surface Course Hot Bituminous Pavement - Surface Course No.

SC-1, Three Inches (3") Minimum Thickness, MDOT State Aid Specifications. The asphalt will be placed in two (2) lifts of One and One Half Inches (1-1/2”) each. The first lift is required prior to Final Plat Approval. The final lift required to be provided no sooner than 80% of lot buildout. Harrison County Engineering inspection and approval required prior to final lift. If 80% buildout does not occur within the two (2) year warranty period, Developer may elect to extend the Completion Bond or pay cost of final lift to County for overlay at a later date.

Concrete Pavement “…allowed only by special permission by the Board of Supervisors.” Base shall be as listed below.

Base Course Eight (8) inch minimum thickness, crushed

limestone or ten (10) inch crushed concrete, size 610, 10” Cement Treated Base in accordance with the MSHD State Specifications allowed only upon inspection by Harrison County Engineering Representative following grading of base course, Clay Gravel and Mechanically Stabilized Base Courses are not acceptable. Design data for treated bases shall be stamped and signed by P.E. registered in the state of Mississippi and provided to County. Base course shall be proof-rolled in the presence of a Harrison County Engineering Representative.
