These are two of the original developments that have

become an industry standard for turf craftsmen around

the world. The lightweight, yet strong design of the

Greenkeeper Levelawns makes them ideal for spreading

screened topsoil. The three inner bars are open at the

top and tend to catch any small stones in the dressing.

The front and rear bars are angled to remove any excessmaterial. Both models take the same 1.8m timber handle

with 15cm bracket.

The Landscaper Levelawns are a heavier tool than the

Greenkeeper models, they are designed to handle the

tougher spreading jobs encountered by landscapers,

local authorities, pavers and building contractors or in

construction of greens and tees. The head is made from

16mm square steel tube, strongly braced at each end for

extra rigidity. They take the same handle and bracket asthe Greenkeeper models.

Designed specifically for leveling top dressing on bowling

greens, cricket wickets and similar areas of fine turf where

a high degree of accuracy is required.

The outer channels are straightened to within 0.4mm.

When pulled with the 'open' face forward, they pick up the

soil and throw it forward in the form of a wave. This breaks

up any lumps and keeps the soil moving.Any soil which passes over the front channel is redistributed

by the inner bars before forming a smaller wave on the rear

channel. The Levelawn is pulled with one end ahead of the

other so that surplus soil moves along the channels and is

left at the end for the next swathe.

The return pass over the same swathe is made with the flat

faces of the channels leading, thus it is not necessary to

turn the Levelawn around at the ends. This pass rubs in and

removes any surplus soil. Placing the pull ropes in the rear

holes in the cross bars will increase the ground pressure on

the front channel. Extra weight may be added if required.

The Two Metre Levelawn's bolted construction eliminates

the risk of damage in transit. The robust 50 x 25mm(2" x

1") channels are hydraulically straightened in production

and unlikely to distort in use. Two pull ropes are providedand can be clipped to any of 20 locations on the frame. A

steel pull handle is an option.

The Three Metre Levelawn is similar in construction, but

the extra width allows it to correct wider variations in the

playing surface. Three pull ropes and carry handles are

supplied as standard equipment.

TRACTORMOUNTED LEVELAWN

The Tractor Mounted Levelawn is ideal for leveling and

contouring soil, sand, cinders and similar materials. The frame

consists of five steel angle bars that are tilted so that, when

drawn in one direction, they can cut into the surface to

remove high spots, or rough spread top dressing. The degree

of penetration is controlled by the operator using the tractor

hydraulic control, coupled with adjustment of the top link.

When the direction of pull is reversed by moving the A frame to

the opposite end of the Levelawn, the angles have a smoothing

effect and can rub in without damaging the turf.

The Tractor Mounted Levelawn will spread dry soil or sand easily

and quickly from heaps without need of heavy grading equipment,

or a highly skilled operator. It quickly produces a smooth surface

ready to take turf, mulch or other surface materials.

The Drag Mat is widely used on golf courses and by local

councils. It is normally used at renovation for rubbing in

top-dressing to large areas such as greens or tees, where

undulations and contours in the surface make a levelawn

impractical.

The weight and dimensions of the drag mat mean that it

can be towed behind lightweight vehicles such as mowers,

quads or carts.

The 50mm (2") Round Plugger has a zinc plated steel tubular body anda replaceable heat treated steel blade, which is adjustable for depthsof 50-100mm. The blade is only 1.5mm thick, hardened and plated toensure a clean, easy cut with minimum root damage.Each plug is pushed up into the tube as the next plug is taken, thuseliminating the need for an ejector.Other advantages of this system are:1) Less broken plugs due to repeated handling.2) No more stooping to gather up the plugs.

3) The plugs are protected throughout from drying wind and sun.4) No bucket/box of plugs to carry, up to 15 are held safely in the tube

to emerge at the top as each damaged spot is removed.

The 100mm (4") and 150mm (6") Round Pluggers are similar to each

other in design. Each has a foot operated, spring loaded ejector. The heat-treated blades are only 1.5mm thick and zinc plated to give a clean cut.Depth can be varied by moving the stops above the ejectors.

The Turf Doctors cut inverted pyramid shaped sods for

patching and repairing small areas. There are several

advantages in the pyramid shape:

1) Each sod fits quickly and neatly into every hole.

2) The true surface level is maintained.

3) The playing surface remains firm and stable, as each

sod is held firmly in place by the wedges of undisturbed

soil (see sketch).

4) A complete repair can be made with no gaps left

between the sods.

Turf Doctors are ideal for repairing local damage to turf

due to heavy wear, such as may occur on the service line on

tennis courts, the goalmouth on soccer pitches, accidental

damage by spillage of chemicals or oils, turf loss through

drought or other causes. The repaired areas can be played

on straight away. As the sloping sides of the sods are

pressed tightly together, there is minimal root loss and

recovery is quick.

Note: Always replace the first sod before cutting the adjacent

ones to avoid breaking the wedge of soil between them.

Ideally, use one Turf Doctor to cut fresh sods and one to

remove the damaged turf. The sods will fit exactly. Keep

blades sharpened. Dull blades make hard work and premature

breakage of the tool. Replacement blades are available.(TD150/1, TD230/1)

19mm HANDY STAINLESS SAMPLER

This handy, lightweight tool features a stainless steel tyne

with 3 windows that makes viewing soil strata samples

fast and simple. The removable T handle fits inside the

tyne for storage and can be used to push cores out of the

top of the sampler. Comes with convenient storage case.

25mm SOIL PROBEThis robust steel probe has a replaceable hardened steel

cutter, open sided 300mm barrel, 300mm extension bar

The Twin Dew & Polishing Roller is an excellent tool for the

fast removal of dew in the morning, or to speed up dryingof bowling greens after a shower of rain. It is finger light

to use, even when fully weighted. The twin rollers quickly

disperse the droplets of water off the leaf and into the soil. If

the rollers are filled (80% maximum) with water plus soluble

oil to prevent corrosion, a polishing effect is achieved. They

must never be completely filled, or damage will occur from

expansion due to hot sun or frost.

Removable Add Weights (TDPR2) are available to get the

tools. The powder coated steel cup setter neatly places the putting

The Divot Doctor is an exciting new invention. Instantly remove

those ugly bare patches on chipping areas or tees where golfers

fail to replace their divots. Also ideal for repairing damage on

race tracks, sports fields or any turf surface.

The four strong teeth on each jaw easily sink into the most

dense of turf surrounding your ugly divot mark or damaged

area. The scissor action of the handles then pulls stolons and

roots across onto the bare soil. Simply tread down on the

repaired area and the damage is gone.
