Eligibility:• Must be an Upstate New York National Grid Commercial Electric Account holder and pay into the System Benefits Charge (SBC).

IRS recognized farms and religious organizations may also be eligible if they pay into the SBC. Please verify with a copy of aNational Grid electric utility bill.

• Product types eligible for prescriptive lighting retrofit and controls incentives are included in Tables 1A (Lighting Systems Eligibility andIncentives) and 1B (Lighting Controls Eligibility and Incentives) attached to this application. Measures not listed on this application maybe eligible for incentives under our Custom C&I Retrofit program. Please contact your National Grid Representative for additional details.

Pre-Approval Requirements:

• Only completed applications will be considered and reviewed for incentive eligibility.• All projects require a pre-inspection prior to National Grid issuing an incentive offer letter.• BEFORE purchasing and installing the equipment, ensure the project is eligible for an incentive.• National Grid account number, Federal Tax ID numbers and a W-9 form for the customer must be provided.• Be sure to identify the customer or installation contractor receiving the incentive and where the check is to be sent.

Application Steps:

• Complete the Excel file of the lighting and control measures and system inventory spreadsheet. If you do not have access to Excelor use a version older than 2010, please fill out the Lighting Systems Inventory Worksheet (Table 2A) and Lighting Control(s) InventoryWorksheet (Table 2B) if controls are part of the project. Return either the spreadsheet or the completed tables as part of your completepackage submitted to National Grid.Please refer to the NYS Device Codes chart or speak with your National Grid Representative foraccepted codes and wattages.

• Proposed equipment manufacturer’s technical specification sheets (“cut sheets”) for each type of installed equipment must be providedwith the application.

• Project must include labor and material cost.

• All LED fixtures must be Design Lights Consortium (DLC) qualified and LED bulbs must be ENERGY STAR LED products notfound on Energy Star or DLC qualified products lists may be eligible for incentives if found on Lighting Design Labs (LDL) qualified product list.

Installation and Payment Steps:

• Once a completed application is reviewed and meets the minimum energy savings requirements, an incentive is calculated and offerletter is provided to the customer and/or installation contractor for review and signature.

• The customer and/or installation contractor must:

• Purchase and install equipment within 180 days upon receipt of the pre-approval letter.

• Verify installation by providing a signed signature page from the customer report (“Certification of Installation”)

• Provide a copy of a paid invoice on company letterhead indicating type, size, make, model and quantity of equipment andinclude burdened project labor costs.

• Return all required information to National Grid within 30 days of the installation.

The Retrofit Program is designed for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers to help replace aging and inefficient equipment and systems with more energy efficient technologies. This type of prescriptive application provides a pre-determined incentive amount based on calculated energy savings to help expedite a customer’s incentive processing and improve their return on investment as a result of improved energy savings, increased safety, and improved productivity that comes with more energy efficient lighting.

Minimum fixture efficiency must exceed 80%. Recommended mounting height > 16 feet above the floor. High Intensity Fluorescent fixtures incorporate a number of lamp technologies that include T-8, T-5, T-5HO and compact fluorescent. Low power ballasts are not eligible.55

This spreadsheet can be used for a prescriptive OR custom lighting and/or controls project

If using for custom, the measure codes do not have to be selected on the lighting worksheet

Lighting Worksheet-2A

1.Enter the facility name at top of lighting worksheet (D10), Building Square Footage (H10), and Annual Energy Usage (M10)

~ this will auto fill in the other worksheets, where applicable

2.On the top right of the lighting worksheet (R2:V8) in the first box select from the dropdown menus the appropriate facility type, city, and HVAC system for the site.

3.Complete the necessary # of rows on the lighting worksheet for each area in a building being retrofitted with new lights

~ be as specific as possible with the areas and the lighting descriptions (ex. Office 102, 3 lamp T-8 32W NB 2x4 parabolic troffers)

4.Be sure to identify in column B & C on the lighting worksheet if the area is an interior or exterior space (I or E) and whether or not it is an air conditioned space (Y, N, or R)

5.Specify in column E the annual operating hours of the lights for the area outlined in each row

6.Identify the quantity of existing and proposed lights in columns H & M, for prescriptive applications these quantities should be the same, except when incentives are per lamp

7.Complete the NY Device Codes in columns I & N for existing and proposed lights based on the type of light being used

~ Refer to the NY Device Codes & Rated Wattage table (can be filtered) on this spreadsheet to find the correct device code. This will auto populate columns J & O for the wattage of the fixture

8.In column K select the appropriate measure code (if using for prescriptive application). Refer to worksheet Lighting Measures - 1A

9.If selecting Measure Codes 81 C, D, E, F, or H for linear & pin based LED lamps please complete the following:

~ in the proposed lighting section please enter the total quantity of lamps being installed for that location in column M

~ use the NY Device Code for LED Integral Replacement Lamps that is equal to the system wattage for the lamp; this includes bare lamp and ballast/driver wattage

10.If completing for a prescriptive application the incentives per fixture and total incentives will auto calculate

~ If the proposed system does not meet the measure codes minimum wattage savings requirements (as outlined in Table 1A) a note will appear in column Q stating it does not meet min watts. Check to ensure proper device code is being used or consider another alternative

1.If the proposed lighting project includes controls complete all the lighting details first on the Lighting Worksheet

4.For those areas and lights being controlled, in column D select the type of control to be used (ex. Occupancy, daylight, etc.)

5. In column F enter the number of controls being installed for that area

6. In column G the quantity of fixtures being controlled is auto populated from the lighting worksheet. If the quantity of fixtures being controlled differs, change the number to the correct amount

7.The Total Watts controlled will auto calculate based on the % savings as outlined in the NYS Tech Manual
