Career Summary & Goals

I am a very ambitious and driven individual. I have a passion for helping

small and new businesses maximise their potential. I get a sense of achievement

when new businesses gain investment from a business plan and financial model

that I have created. I also get a sense of achievement seeing small businesses that

I have helped thrive.

I believe that when a business has the right data in front of them in a

format they can understand and drive improvements from, it will assist with

them business achieving their goals.

I chose to go self-employed doing Bookkeeping, financial modelling

analysis and excel help as I thoroughly enjoy analysing data, creating &

designing reports in excel and working with numbers. Personally I think if you

do something you enjoy doing you will do it well.

My Goal over the next five years is to increase my client list and help

more small / new businesses thrive.

Summary of Resume

Early in my career I started in hospitality, I have always had a drive to

succeed and this showed even in my earlier roles. I was doing bar and

waitressing but progressed to bar management and other supervisory roles.

Hospitality taught me a lot about people and customer care.

I moved to Devon in August 2006 I got a temporary job as receptionist at

Pasta King in Newton Abbot. This role quickly progressed to permanent and

from receptionist to Accounts Assistant. I have always been very good with

numbers and wanted to explore a career in finance. Pasta King supported my

role by putting me through my AAT level 2, 3 and 4. The finance director was

very supportive and regularly got me involved in bigger projects giving me the

chance to really excel myself. My daily tasks as Accounts Assistant were credit

control, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and payroll. Other projects that I

got involved with were stock management, profitability of new products.

After 4 years at Pasta King I felt I could not progress any further within

the business so I moved to Goodridge as Finance Analyst.

At Goodridge I created business Key Performance Indicators and

analysed discrepancies in the profit & Loss. When I started at Goodridge there

was minimal reporting therefore I created many reports to assist management

with monitoring there expenditure. The role progressed after 2 years to Business

Analyst. As Business Analyst I ran workshops and interviews to identify user’s

requirements. I investigated ways to meet the stakeholder’s requirements and

put together business proposals. I assisted with implementation of solutions and

/ or designed reports to meet the user’s needs. At every stage I would project

manage the project and always relay back to the proposal to ensure

requirements were met.

My largest and most effective projects were:

Creating a business 5 year financial model which was used for the

sale of the business.

Implementation of a full barcoding system for the manufacturing of

the Goodridge product.

Investigation of HR system to suit the company’s needs and

increase efficiency within HR department.

Create and design KPI’s that suit the business and help identify

any critical success factors of the business that are not being met.

Automation of reporting, a lot of reports were created manually

and using the systems Goodridge already had in place I learnt how

to get the reports to run automatically without manual

intervention. This helped increase efficiency across many

departments.

In April 2015 I made the decision to go self-employed. My partner is

setting up a new business, a garage in Exeter, “Williams Motors

Limited” and I am doing his bookkeeping and admin. Alongside this I

also develop Bookkeeping sheets for small businesses to help them monitor

their business performance with minimal input. I do remote work using

my excel knowledge helping people that need excel sheets developing or

fixing. I also create financial models for businesses.

Sample of Work

Bookkeeping Spreadsheet

I created and designed a Bookkeeping sheet that I amend to suit each

client’s requirements.

The sheet is navigated with macro enabled buttons. The business enters

there expenses, income, VAT and assets. The information then consolidates into

a Profit & Loss, Cashflow, Balance Sheet and Profit by Customer. The business

can also use it to print off their customer invoices.
